Miles kept his word. He found the girls in the house and got them out.

We took some girls to the police station—where they asked to go—and the others went on their own way after we booked them flights and bought them some clothes, because when we found them they were dressed in lingerie like I was when I was with the traffickers.

Only Francesca and Grace wanted to come back to Washington with us, and that's okay. I just wanted to know that Camila and Luna were safe and they’re going home to be with their families. I know they won’t be okay for a long time, but I'm just glad to know that they’re on the way to being okay.

I won't be okay for a long time either, but finding the girls that I worked with is helping.

But we’re not done. There are still seven girls missing.

Sighing, I move my left hand from side to side, watching the streetlights bounce off of the giant diamond on my finger. We just dropped off Fran at the bus station, and we’re going back to Miles’ house. I can feel myself crashing. The adrenaline has run its course and now I'm worn out.

I lean my head back against the headrest, my eyes slowly closing. “I want to ruin the people running the trafficking ring, and I want to destroy Carlos for doing this to us.”

“I’m already on it, Little Ghost. I copied everything I could from their servers when I was in the office, and I sent it to a contact who will pass it on to the authorities.”

Miles’ words comfort me as I succumb to sleep.
