Wufu stepped out of the main house only to hear a series of muffled sobs coming from behind. She sighed helplessly and looked up at the sky in resignation.

"What is Love in this world?" she thought. "The lovelorn suffer the most, as Madam Zhou shows."

She slowly returned to her room, where Purple Jade and the others were busy packing for the journey. Only Hongyu seemed somewhat downcast.

"What’s wrong? That little face is all fallen," Wufu teased as she pinched Hongyu’s chubby cheeks.

Hongyu glanced at her, then hung her head and said, "This time, this servant cannot accompany miss on her trip."

Wufu uttered a sound of realization and said, "This trip to Changan is for serious matters, not for leisure. You have no Kung Fu skills, so you can’t come along. I will take you on a trip some other time."

Hongyu knew she was not as capable as her elder sisters and was younger; tagging along might only hold them back, so she obediently nodded her head.

"Even if you can’t go out, you must look after miss’s house," Jadeite came over to add, "Compared to the two of us, you have an even greater responsibility now. We’re relying on you alone when we’re gone!"

Hongyu’s eyes brightened as she looked at Wufu and smiled, "This servant will definitely guard miss’s house well."

Wufu nodded with a smile. Seeing them all busy with their tasks, she stood up and went to the study to summon Liu Jin for a talk.

"Miss," Liu Jin entered and knelt on one knee to pay respects.

"Since when did you learn such empty formalities? Get up," Wufu said with a smile and a reprimand.

Liu Jin stood up and said solemnly, "Rules are rules, and courtesy must not be abandoned."

Wufu’s mouth twitched slightly at the sight of his attire, feeling a sudden toothache.

"What in the world are you wearing? How many times have I said, don’t dress like that?" she criticized his dull and stuffy clothes, which were oddly mismatched with his age, making him look like a little old man.

Liu Jin’s face reddened for an instant, his hands awkwardly tugging at his clothing.

"There’s nothing wrong with it, this servant thinks it’s quite good," he defended.

Wufu huffed and said, "Don’t think your miss is a fool, and I don’t know what you’re thinking. You just don’t want others to look down on you because you’re young, so you pretend to be mature."

"Miss..." Liu Jin felt embarrassed, having his thoughts exposed.

"Liu Jin, you are indeed overthinking. Who says only those who act mature can be considered capable? Isn’t it even more admirable to be young yet thorough in your actions?

You’ve heard of ’youthful heroes,’ haven’t you?

Those who achieve great things are not defined by their age.

Moreover, do you think changing your clothes will earn you respect?

If you really were incompetent, even if you dressed like a real old man, nobody would give you a second glance," Wufu said bluntly.

Liu Jin’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he looked at her uncertainly. Being so young and being with the miss, he always felt a bit like a child, which is why he had focused on his dress.

"Sometimes, age can be a camouflage. Let me teach you another thing, ’playing the pig to eat the tiger,’" Wufu said, eyeing him sideways. "Imagine, someone underestimates you because of your age and ends up suffering a big loss at your hands. Wouldn’t that feel exhilarating?"

Liu Jin paused, tilted his head in thought, and then bowed, "Liu Jin has learned his lesson."

"Some heroes are proud and look down on those of younger years, and that’s precisely how they get defeated by them. So, you see, being young is not something to feel inferior about. Learning real skills is what’s important, understand?"

"Liu Jin understands," he replied.

Wufu nodded in satisfaction, "Good, now go change into something else. Your handsome face shouldn’t be hidden by such dreary clothes. Your miss doesn’t like it."
