Page 5 of Daring Her Vampires (Embracing The Bond #12)
Luca slips the button in between her breasts free and continues to the rest. Leaving my finger under her bra, I watch as Luca spreads the fabric, revealing the black lace covering her.
Her breasts are beautiful and will fill our hands.
She exhales harshly as Luca’s hand grazes her.
We strike at the same time, sucking her nipples deep in our mouths.
“Shit,” she gasps, her head falling back. I grab her hip and hold her close.
I wasn’t expecting to feel so much for a woman we just met.
Her need satisfies me even though I’m hard and desperately want inside her.
She set the rules, and I will follow them.
I want to drive her to the edge so she will beg us to fuck her, but it’s going to be torture.
Our mate has the power to bring me to my knees, and I have no doubt she will push us.
Pulling away and seeing the fabric become see-through makes me want more. Moving my hand from her hip, I slide it underneath her blazer, cupping her waist. Luca releases her and licks from her nipple to her collar.
“Your skin tastes like cherries,” he says roughly, looking up at her. He nips her jaw and scrapes his fangs over her sensitive skin.
“Jesus,” she groans.
“Do you want more, Little Bunny?” I flex my fingers, pulling her closer.
“I won’t complain,” she says. I grin and press my thumb to the middle of her lip, pulling slightly before lowering my head.
“Fuck,” I growl a breath away from her lips. “Why is there a wolf at your door?”
“No,” she whispers.
“Sally,” the wolf sings. I pull her off the counter and against my chest.
“River, what the fuck?” she snarls, and I set her down. I redo her buttons. Even if he is a friend, no one except us will see her body.
“Can I kill him?” Luca asks, glaring at the door.
“No.” She stomps to the door and swings it wide. “Why are you here?” she demands.
“You haven’t answered your texts,” River says. He leans against the door frame and pulls a chip from the bag he’s holding. “I thought something drastic had happened.”
“Bullshit. You heard about my mates.” She crosses her arms. “Who told?”
“Do you want a list?” he says with a mouth full of food. He doesn’t seem to care that we are vampires. I want to push him down the stairs behind him.
“Atlas. Luca. This is River.” She rolls her eyes. “He was a friend.”
“Don’t be like that, sexy rabbit.” I press my hand against Luca’s chest.
“Careful, Wolf,” I hiss.
“It’s River.” He grins, and I narrow my eyes.
“You can see I’m fine,” Sally says and grabs the doorknob. “I’ll check in later.”
“Wait,” he says, pushing against the door. “You should read your texts. We’re having a night out.”
“Have fun,” she replies, trying to shut the door. I want to shove him out of the way and make him leave.
“You love parties,” he gasps.
“Not today.”
“Ryker and Bash are hosting this time. You have to come. You know how this works,” he says. “It’s tradition.”
“Damn,” she sighs, letting go of the doorknob.
“There will be dancing, food, drinking, and probably blood.” He looks at me and then at Luca. “You both look like you’ve shed some blood a time or two.”
“Do you want me to show you how we do it?” Luca threatens, and I use some of my strength to hold him back.
“Not today, thanks,” River says, eating another chip.
“Do you have a death wish?” I glare.
“No, my mate would be upset if something happened to me.” He tips his head back, emptying the chip bag. “I volunteered to come over and invite you.” He brushes the crumbs away that landed on his shirt.
“Of course you did,” Sally mutters.
“I’m harmless,” River says, holding his arms wide.
“Some of the rest of the family, not so much.” He drops his arms and leans forward.
“This is how it works. Someone in the group finds their mate, and as much as you want to be left alone, they don’t let you.
Yes, it’s frustrating but necessary. We need to check you out.
We have to approve. Sally means a lot to us, and we won’t just let anybody take her away. You have to be worthy.”
“River,” Sally says softly. I stare at my mate's face. His words mean something to her, and her scent is filled with pleasure. I make a decision that I will probably regret, but it will make her happy.
“We’ll be there,” I reply. Luca stiffens, and I look at him sharply. He grinds his jaw, but I give him a moment to think about what it means to Sally.
“Fine,” he says through gritted teeth.
“Awesome,” River says, clapping his hands; the bag pops. Luca closes his eyes and moves away.
“You can go now,” Sally says.
“Don’t be late,” he hums as she closes the door in his face. “It’s a very important date,” he continues loudly.
“Fuck off.” Sally locks the door and leans against it.
“I will apologize now. They mean well. I’m sure this isn’t what you planned.
Finding a mate and getting grilled by her family.
I expect most, if not all, of them will be there.
The club is owned by two vampires, Ryker and Bash.
It is tradition when mates meet. We get together.
Luckily, it usually does include blood.” I step close and grip her chin.
“Do you want to go?” I ask softly.
“Yes.” She twists her lips. “They are a pain in the ass, but I love them.”
“Then we’ll go.” I step away and look at my brother. He’s frowning, but he’s staring at her intently.
“Luca,” she says.
“As long as it’s acceptable to kill someone if they fuck with you,” he answers.
“It is. It’s even encouraged.” She smiles.
“Alright. We go where you go.” His expression eases.
“You should know something about me,” she starts, standing straight.
“I take forever to get ready. I may go through ten different outfits.” She passes me, swipes up her purse, and turns.
“There will be cursing and fits thrown as I try to choose.” She walks backward.
“Don’t pay any attention. It’s a process.
” She stops in front of a door. “Where are you staying?” She pauses but doesn’t let us answer.
“You can stay here. I have a spare room and bathroom.”
“We didn’t book a hotel. We will stay with you.” I glance at Luca. “We’ll get our bags from the car.”
“Perfect.” She opens the door. “I need to shower.” I don’t miss the secret smile as she steps into her room.
“Sally,” I call.
“Yeah.”
“Our hearing is excellent,” I point out, knowing exactly what she’s thinking.
“I know.” She narrows her eyes. “So is mine.”
“I’m adding a rule. No touching yourself.”
Her breath catches.
“We will be the only ones who make you come,” Luca says.
“Come on,” she pouts.
“We will know.” I lift my brow.
“Fine. I won’t come by my hand.”
“Tricks, we’ll definitely hear something buzzing too,” Luca chuckles. “You can’t get away with a technicality.”
“I said fine,” she growls.
“If not the buzzing, your whimpers would give it away,” I add, smirking.
“I don’t whimper,” she gasps.
“You will be whimpering and begging us to fuck you by the end of the night,” I challenge.
“Bring it on, vampire.” She tips her chin, moves inside the room, and slams the door.
“This is going to be fun, brother.” I open the door.
“Told you,” he mumbles. “Stay here. I’ll get the bags.” Nodding, I shut the door behind him.
I’m dreading the night. If I have to battle her whole family to have her, I will.
I can play nice.
Maybe.
