T he car ride to the hotel was awful. Sin refused to look at me, and I didn’t want to speak to him. I was tempted to refuse to go to the party, to throw the dress at him and force him and the stylists out of my nest and my life.
But I had to swallow it all down and sit in the awkward silence while pretending I wasn’t high on the soft vanilla that filled the limo.
In a small space with the two of us, it was so hard not to spread my legs and beg him to fuck me.
The car slowed and, from the way Sin shifted in his seat, we were finally here. Just another minute and I could get away from the cloying scent that made me wet with need.
People moved in the crowd on the other side of the tinted glass, and I couldn’t tell if they were the two people I was dying to see.
The driver opened the door on Sin’s side of the car. He briefly turned to me with no emotion in his eyes.
“Stay,” he said coldly, as if I was a dog waiting for his orders.
My eyebrows shot up and I took a deep breath, but I was covered in so much vanilla that I ended up slicking at his command.
I shifted my hips, trying to rearrange myself, as if fanning the long hem of my dress was going to stop my slick.
Thank God I still had a pair of period pants hanging around for when I used to take those pills that forced me to bleed. My legs, thighs and hips were shaped with black tights, though I doubted it would help if my horniness got out of control.
Because the dress would have been ruined the moment Sin arrived at my flat.
The door opened on my side, and Sin bowed, his purple irises even more imposing than before. He offered me a hand and I was tempted to ignore it after his attitude, but I was being paid to play a part. And I prided myself on being good at my job.
I rose from the car, taking his hand, enjoying the smooth brush of his silky white glove, and the bumps and grooves I could feel under the fabric. My other hand wrapped tight around the midnight blue clutch laced with gold that Kai had sent along with the dress.
I’d never worn anything like it. Even compared to the omegas standing in the hotel doorway, I still felt like a queen, and Kai was the one who’d crowned me.
There were too many pairs of eyes watching us. My heels were so tall that I almost stumbled. Sin’s knuckle cracked as he quickly pulled me to his side, and I was already flushing. I had no idea what the hell was going through his head as he looked down at me with a neutral expression, but I refused to cringe away from him.
As I straightened myself, I looked up at the huge building, glowing with bright lights, the sound of an orchestra floating towards us from inside. Laughter and chattering surrounded us as Sin guided me towards the stairs that led up to the entrance.
I could sense the alpha and omega auras from far away, and I was hoping they wouldn’t get any stronger. The few alphas and omegas I had been around since my heat ended had all been overwhelming as their auras made me feel sick and their scents were too strong. The only reason I’d kept calm around Sin was because he’d held his aura in.
My breath caught as I laid eyes on them, and I sighed with relief. The tension I’d been clutching to so desperately released.
Caspian and Kai stood at the top of the wide marble stairs, sending me matching sneers that spun right to my core.
My whole body sang with rightness as I absorbed the sight of them both showering hate on me as we climbed the steps.
Caspian’s arms stayed folded hard against his chest, his muscles flexing under his dark grey suit. He couldn’t even look at me, his scowl so deep he looked like a carving.
And Kai…
My heart jumped in my throat as our gazes clashed. Every step we rose, our connection grew, until Sin and I reached the top step, and I could finally feel him inside me again.
Kai’s presence echoed through me as the corner of his mouth twitched. He must have felt it, too. He couldn’t not when it was flowing through me like a wave of pleasure.
I had to swallow my moan to control myself, desperately clasping Sin so I didn’t run forward and throw myself into Kai’s arms.
He was even more painfully beautiful than I remembered through the sex-fuelled haze of our heats. I’d seen so many videos of him since I’d ran from them that I thought I’d be okay.
But the pure black silk dress, covered with white and yellow cranes hung perfectly from his body, showing just enough skin to be modest and insanely sexy at the same time. My gaze hungrily absorbed every detail, from the amber stud in his left ear to the red sash that rode his waist.
He clicked his tongue as he ran his gaze over me. “I guess you clean up well enough.”
“Hello to you too, Kai,” I said, my voice dipping way lower than I expected. Enough to make him still. I swore I heard him draw in a quick breath, but I was too distracted by the way Caspian suddenly towered over us.
“Caspian,” I whispered, unable to say another word as his spiked aura bore into me.
I swallowed, my throat suddenly dry as he captured me. My chest swelled, and I could have become lost in his glare if Kai's hand hadn't suddenly shot between us.
The air whooshed around us as he snapped open a brilliant white fan decorated with the same cranes from his dress. The fan carved a line between us, stopping me and Caspian from falling any further into each other.
A growl tore from Caspian, and I almost moaned as our four scents swirled in the air around.
“Why the fuck do you smell like that?” Kai hissed, his eyes shooting between Sin and I as he stepped in close.
One second I was staring at him in wonder. The next, Kai pressed himself against my body, notching his head between us, sniffing so deeply it made my knees weak.
I didn’t care if he was furious. I reached out, instantly creasing my fingers over the red belt of his dress so I could hold him.
I almost sobbed at having both Sin and Kai against me, trembling with need as my aching wish was nearly fulfilled. All I needed was the alpha raging behind Kai to wrap his arms around me, and I would be complete.
“What the hell did you two do?” Kai’s breath was harsh against my sensitive neck.
I gasped as he pulled back, meeting me with fire in his eyes.
“Kai, we just…” I didn’t know what I was supposed to say to him when I had done exactly the same thing as last time. Caspian fucking me or Sin kissing me; they were the same when it was without their omega’s permission.
“There were some…complications,” Sin replied, squeezing my hand.
“Yeah, I bet there fucking were.” Kai’s rumbling growl vibrated in my chest. If I could settle against him for the night like this, I’d be happy. “Just because I made you a dress doesn’t mean shit. You’re not welcome here.”
I held back my whimper as his breath brushed my neck. It hadn’t even been two minutes and I wanted his teeth in me.
His aura vibrated around us, pressing firmly against my body. I thought I’d feel nauseous around them, like I had with every other alpha and omega I’d met since I presented. Instead, it was like I wanted to absorb as much of them as I could into my skin.
“Are we going in, or are you just gonna grope her right here in front of everyone?” Caspian growled, staring at me like he was ready to tackle me if I made a wrong move.
Kai clicked his teeth before gripping my upper arms, yanking himself back from me.
There was the tiniest second where he looked at Sin, and a whisper of pain curled from him, but it vanished as he brightened into a wide smile.
“Come on, Cas. Aren’t we all just one big, happy pack ? No one’s going to believe you want to shove your cock in her when you look like that!”
Everyone still stared at us, but no one reacted as Kai stepped away, lifting his spread fan between us like he was shielding himself.
My eyes flicked around, but I couldn’t tell if anyone else had heard him.
“Are they inside?” Sin asked Caspian, who glared pointedly at me before nodding.
“Guess we’ll finally get to see what your little plan is,” Caspian said to me, his jaw tightening.
“I still don’t know what you’re talking about,” I replied. Though I knew a lot more than I thought I would about their cryptic comments. I just didn’t know who was involved, and their motives behind sending me to the heat suite. I kept in touch with Lucielle as she searched for where the order to send me to them had come from, but she hadn't discovered anything.
“Yeah, we’ll see how long you keep that one up for, Mel.”
I shivered at how good my name sounded in his smooth voice.
Caspian reached forward, still scowling at me. I froze as I thought he was going to grab me.
Instead, he threw his arm around Sin’s neck and tugged him so hard that his hand was ripped from mine.
Kai snorted as Caspian shot me one more venomous look before he dragged Sin off into the hotel.
Suddenly, it was just me, Kai, and the tight crowd surrounding us, tracking us like they were planning an attack.
Kai laughed as he looped his arm through mine. “Let's go, Brandy. It's time for a show.”
“What do you mean ‘a show’?” I asked. I was still trying to keep my balance after the raw pleasure of being surrounded by all three of them.
“Ha! You’ll see. If we’re right, it’s going to be the most fun we’ve had for ages,” he said as he pulled me towards the doors.
A wave of scents hit us the moment we entered. It was like fifty people were shouting at me from every direction, and my brain was instantly scrambled.
I wavered, my eyes dropping to the wooden floor, trying to focus as my vision shook.
“Hey, pay attention,” Kai snapped. “This is important stuff. If you mess this up, there’s no chance you’ll be part of our pack. And that would just be tragic , wouldn’t it?”
My brow furrowed as I met his glare. “You’re talking like I actually chose to be here,” I mumbled.
I was doing this all for my mum, but I didn’t know if I could even enter the crowd when it was so overwhelming. How did new omegas deal with this when they first presented?
Kai stopped dead between the double doors, snapping his fan shut between us.
He slowly turned his head to me, that fierceness I’d seen only minutes before blazing through him again. The fan trembled under white knuckles as he took a breath.
“You always have a choice,” he said bitterly. “And you chose to come back to us. Even though I told you.” His jaw clenched as he scanned the people who watched us from the steps, and he lowered his voice. “I told you to stay the fuck away from my alphas.”
Even just meeting his rage was enough to stoke my need.
We watched each other, our breaths in sync, each second that ticked by solidifying the connection between us. I urged it on, opening my body to him, inviting him in, even though it felt like he could shred me from the inside.
“Kai?” Sin’s voice followed us from inside the hotel. “Are you coming?”
We both perked up at the sight of Caspian and Sin standing in the centre of the huge foyer. A whole crowd weaved around them, and they only had eyes for us. It really felt like they were waiting for their omega to join them.
“Oh, fuck yeah.” Kai smirked at me before he lifted his fan, spreading it again to hide everything but his sharp eyes. “Let’s go start the fun.”
