Page 8 of Bound to a Virgo Menace (BLP Signs of Love #3)

Tonight was the first night I’d been back since my mom passed.

Being here with Hevyn made me feel just like she did when she tasted my pancakes.

It was such a nostalgic feeling. I’d never cry in front of her though.

Letting go and showing Hevyn how much I appreciated her being here with me was another way to express my feelings.

We sat side by side on the rollercoaster, and I couldn’t wait to get off. I wasn’t a fan of rollercoasters or heights for that matter. Real niggas like me were always supposed to have their feet on the ground and not in the damn air.

I looked down when Hevyn’s soft fingers intertwined with mine.

“Hey. Look at me,” she commanded softly. I did as she instructed. “You’re safe with me.” Her glossed lips rolled over each other.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her mouth. Hevyn’s lips were full.

Her top lip was slightly fuller than the bottom lip, and when she smiled, one side rose higher than the other.

She was perfect. The moment was perfect.

We flew around the picturesque evening, and now was the time to receive the one thing I greatly desired.

My hand cradled her face, thumb gently caressing her soft cheek.

Hevyn must have felt the same way because she leaned in closer to me, awaiting the moment our lips would unite.

I leaned forward the rest of the way, closing the distance and relishing in my one wish.

My one wish had me feeling like that R&B nigga Ray J.

Her kiss had me imagining I could dance in the rain with my shirt ripped just like his videos, but I was too G for that shit.

Hevyn’s mouth was warm and tasted of the cherry slushie she’d consumed before we got on our ride. Her tongue was saturated with the sweet flavor, making me crave more of her. I pulled her closer to me by her waist. Her small hand rubbed up and down my chest, basking in the firmness of my body.

She felt and tasted heavenly, just like her name.

Our tongues rolled over each other like rolling hills.

Her kisses brought me a sense of longing, peace, and home.

I felt like I belonged to someone important again.

My dick seemed to be harder than it had ever been, but I didn’t want sex right now.

All I wanted was this beauty in my arms.

Hevyn and I didn’t part until the ride stopped. When it did, our chests rose and fell, and the satiated expression on her face said it all. She was just as smitten with me as I was with her. I got off the ride first and helped her off.

“What would you like to do next?” I queried.

“I want you to win me a big stuffy,” she answered, batting her long lashes at me.

“One giant stuffy coming up.” I grabbed her hand and led her over to the shooting gallery station.

“Evening, y’all. How many games are you paying for?” the station handler asked.

“Only one,” I responded confidently. I looked at Hevyn and smirked.

She wore a skeptical look. “Are you sure? These games can be kinda tricky.”

“No doubt. I’m surgical with a weapon.” I handed the station handler my money.

He reset the game and gave me a nod to go ahead. I picked up the toy rifle and aimed it at the moving targets. There were four rows I had to knock down. I closed one eye, exhaled, and popped every moving target that moved.

Hevyn squealed with joy next to me. She was so happy. I lowered the gun and looked at her.

“Told you I was surgical, butterfly.” I kissed her nose. “Let him know which stuffy you want.”

She turned away from me and looked at the station handler.

“I want the big brown bear in the corner.” Hevyn excitedly pointed at her prize.

He grabbed her bear and handed it to her. “Here you go, little lady.”

She grabbed her bear and looked at me. “Thank you, Cache. You really made my night.”

I blushed. This woman had my grown ass out here blushing. What the fuck? I was too much of a real nigga to be blushing, but Hevyn was a different breed.

“You’re welcome, butterfly. I’m famished now. You want to eat carnival food or go out to dinner?”

“Carnival food, love. It’s so yummy.”

“Alright. Let’s go.”

Hevyn and I walked around and waited in lines. We grabbed a variety of hot foods and desserts then found us some seats. She fed me some of her cheesy and spicy Korean corndog, and I fed her my saucy wings.

“What’s your favorite meal, or a meal you can eat often?” she inquired.

“Honestly, I love a steak. Not just any steak, but a steak that’s medium well, well-seasoned, buttered, and super fuckin’ tender. I can have steak by itself, but if I add sides to it, then I’ll have German potatoes and sautéed asparagus with parmesan cheese. What about you?”

“Soul food. I’m from the South, so southern cuisine will always be my go to.”

I smirked. “That’s what’s up. Soul food is definitely a fan favorite of mine. Can you cook?”

Hevyn wiped her mouth and nodded. “Oh yes. When I first moved here, I could do a little something, but Auntie Vivian changed that right around. She made sure all her girls knew how to cook.”

“I love that. It’s good that you have a family that helped you pick up the pieces after tragedy struck. I would’ve liked that, but it wasn’t in the cards for me. How’s your food and drink?”

“My family is yours, Cache. They’ve known you since you were a boy. My uncle may want to overprotect his girls, but he doesn’t hate you. I know you can feel that because I can too. In response to your question, my food and mango lemonade is so good,” Hevyn confessed. “How’s yours?”

I kissed her lips once more. “Thank you for your kindness, butterfly. I can feel that he cares about me, but his loyalty is to you all first. My wings and mixed berry lemonade is good too. I’m a lemonade connoisseur. It’s my favorite nonalcoholic drink next to water.”

Hevyn snickered. “I’m glad we’re on the same page. I wouldn’t have pegged you for a fruity drink person because of your no-nonsense demeanor, but I love the layers you slowly peel back for me.”

“I’m glad you appreciate it. Just like I’m glad you’re here with me tonight.

You could’ve been anywhere you wanted to, but you chose to be in this moment with me.

Plus, I haven’t been here since I was a kid.

I used to come with my mom all the time.

You made me feel closer to the home I had with her since her passing. Thank you, butterfly.”

She wiped her hands and mouth then wiped my mouth. We shared another sweet kiss and parted.

“Cache, you are deserving of a fulfilling, unconditional, and healthy love just like me. Don’t ever forget it.”

Hevyn went in to wipe the gloss on her lips, but I stopped her.

“I won you a souvenir, and your kisses are mine.”

She grinned broadly at me. “You are such a lover boy, Cache.”

“Only for you, butterfly. Only for you.”

Hevyn went back to her food and swallowed after chewing. “Tell me . . . How did you get into astrology? You always have that book with you.”

“My mom. She was big on zodiac signs and people being compatible with one another.”

She nodded her understanding. “Are we compatible?”

I chuckled. “Absolutely. You’re a water sign, and I’m an earth sign. Although we’re naturally drawn to others we share signs with, I believe water and earth signs are more compatible.”

“How do you figure that?” she inquired before taking a sip of her drink.

“Check this out. Water signs are nurturing, deeply connected to their feelings, emotionally intuitive, and deeply sentimental. You all lead with love and your emotions. Whereas earth signs are more grounded, logical thinkers, and always focused on stability and structure.

“Water signs and earth signs complement each other. Virgos, Taurus, and Capricorns need water signs to help them navigate their feelings, be more emotionally open and aware, and help alleviate a lot of the overthinking that earth signs do. Cancers, Pisces, and Scorpios could benefit from earth signs because we’ll help to ground that person more, show them how to think more logically instead of emotionally in certain situations, and provide them with the stability and structure they might desire.

How do you feel about what I said?” I probed.

“Hmm. It was easy to follow you, and I understand where you’re coming from.

I’ve never been into zodiac signs though.

It’s not my cup of tea, but what I appreciate about this conversation is how knowledgeable you are on the subject, and the way your eyes light up when you talk about zodiac signs.

It’s refreshing. I would love to hear more, love. ”

Hevyn made me blush again. She had a way with words and expressing herself. I ain’t never felt like this before. She damn near had my thug ass ready to sing in the rain. Hevyn was a Cancer like my mom, and slowly, the wheels turned in my head. She could possibly be the one to help heal my heart.
