“You’re mine now, cinnamon girl. Forever.” I wanted to tell him I’d been his since I was six, but before I could, he asked, “Are you done with classes for the week?”
“Yes.”
“Good, we have some bucket list items to settle.” He pressed a kiss to my lips. “You’re spending the rest of the day with me.”
My heart beat louder than the drums as I watched him collect my shoulder bag. With interlocked fingers, we climbed into the car together, and I knew I’d go anywhere with this man, forever.

AMON
Iinhaled deeply, the smell of rubber, engine exhaust, and motor oil seeping into my lungs. Car racing started as a hobby and turned into a lucrative business. With the opening of my recent clubs and the acquisition of ports, I hadn’t had as much time to spend on preparation for the upcoming race.
The rowdy crowd brimmed with excitement as I led Reina to the VIP area. The race hadn’t started yet, but I knew the perfect spot that would give her a good view of the race and was also ideal for what I had planned afterward.
“Um, Amon.” Reina’s hand squeezed mine.
“Yes?”
“I am fairly positive this wasn’t on my bucket list,” she murmured, her eyes darting left and right, studying the tracks. “Maybe yours?”
I chuckled. “You’ll see.”
The light breeze danced over the material of Reina’s dress, hugging her thighs and curves. For once, she wasn’t wearing pink but rather blue—although the dress still had pink flowers on it.
“I've got to say, no boy has ever taken me on a date to a car race,” she mused.
My jaw tightened and a low growl vibrated in my chest. I didn’t like thinking about her on a date with any other man; she was always meant to be mine. But I wisely kept the words to myself.
I rubbed a hand across my mouth at how right that sounded. As if everything that happened in my life had led to this moment. To her. To us.
My determination for revenge was waning and the need for her was growing.
“Unless you want those boys to end up in a shallow grave, you’ll never mention them again.”
She laughed softly. “Possessive, huh?”
I moved my hand to cup her neck. “I told you, Reina. You’re mine, and I don’t share.”
She lifted herself up on her toes and brought her face close to mine. Her lips parted slightly as our eyes locked. Held. Burned. Electricity charged between us and something tripped in my heart. She planted a soft kiss on my lips.
“Me neither, Amon. Best remember that it’s a two-way street.”
God, this woman. She was young, but there was maturity and determination in her that rivaled those of others twice her age.
My thumb brushed over her bottom lip. “I want to be your first in everything, cinnamon girl.”
She jutted her chin, and for a second, I thought she’d tell me to fuck off.
Instead, she said, “Then I want all your firsts, too.” Her tongue darted out, brushing against the pad of my thumb. “Or whichever ones are left. Promise me.”
She was my calm. My warmth. The only light I’d ever had in my life, and I would be a fool to let it go.
“I promise.”
“Amon!” I turned to see who called and spotted one of my mechanics running over to us as we reached the podium at the VIP section. With blond hair and brown eyes, he was already a magnet for the ladies; he didn’t even have to race to get attention.
“Tony.” I shook his hand. “How are you doing?”
