Once a week had passed since I’d woken up from the accident at the blood center, I finally started to feel like I was back to my old self. I’d had a little bit of a setback once I’d gotten settled at Kroven’s, my body crashing from the stress of moving around so much and I was mentally tapped from the revelation about Thayer and Troian. So for once, I was leaning into being bedridden in the comfort of Kroven’s king-sized bed.
I knew that Kroven had heard from Exo and Wallace, but he’d told them that he was unavailable until I was starting to feel better. No amount of protesting from me that he could go and discuss things in my absence had convinced him, and I’ll admit a small part of me was grateful that’d he declined to go. Having Kroven to make sure I was recovering was equal parts elation and frustration. Elation because he was really good about making sure I took the medicine the doctor had prescribed to accelerate my recovery. Frustration because he’d sworn off all sexual activity until I was making visible progress. I blamed the setbacks, where I’d had trouble walking without his help just to do something simple like walk to the bathroom.
But that was over now. Which was how I’d convinced Kroven to take a shower with me, my body pressed against the tile of his open concept shower as he drilled his dick inside of me.
This was the first time we’d had full-on sex since we’d gotten back to Piper and I was eager to have him use my ass. Even now as he thrust inside by retracting his hips painfully slow, I could tell that he was going easier on me than he normally would have. What I wanted was to be fucking pounded and while it was really noble of him to take it easy on me, it was also really fucking annoying.
Less frustration and more elation.
Reaching behind me, I felt around until my hand found Kroven’s ass and I pulled him faster into me. “Kroven, please, just fuck me. I can take it.”
“Are you sure?”
To prove my point, I squeezed his cock with my ass, earning me a growl from my boyfriend, the raised ridges on his dick sliding salaciously through my insides. Without warning, Kroven smacked my ass with a hard welt that I knew was going to leave a mark on my skin. Pre-cum oozed out of my piss slit as I relished the pain turned pleasure. Kroven grabbed my hips and started rocking his hips forward in a swifter motion, the sensations from my ass spiderwebbing throughout my entire body. Heat rose from the core of my being and radiated throughout my bones, rattling me so that I shivered at how good Kroven was at pleasuring me.
“Oh fuck ,” I cried out, reaching between my legs to stroke my aching dick. I could feel the head of Kroven’s cock blistering against my prostate every time he pulled out and back in again. “Fucking pound my hole.”
“Yeah?” Kroven gritted through his teeth, his assault on my ass not letting up. “You like getting fucked by that fat cock?”
Unable to give an intelligent answer, I grunted a string of moans and melted back up against him, rutting my ass as hard as I could to meet his thrusts, my hand blurring over my dick as I felt my orgasm climbing and climbing.
The water kept pouring down on us as my moans really started to echo off the tile. I yelped again when Kroven smacked my other ass cheek, giving me what I presumed was a matching hand print.
“Kroven,” I panted. “You feel so fucking good inside me.”
“Fuck, baby.” Kroven grunted, his voice deepening as a sign of his own impending climax. “I’m gonna come.”
“Give it to me,” I demanded. “Fill me up and make me yours.”
He lunged forward as far as he could, screaming my name over and over again as I felt his dick twitching inside me, his cum flooding my ass. Just feeling the warmth spreading inside my ass was enough to make me burst, my dick jerking in my fast fist as I came. My cum flew out of my cock in haphazard zigzags that coated the too bright tile of the shower.
Slowly, Kroven withdrew himself from me, my dick reacting to the ridges on the side of him, feeling empty instantly. He sighed in content as I turned around to face him, throwing my arms around his neck as he pulled me close. Our tongues clashed together in a show of post-nut affection, his hands lingering down my back until he grabbed a handful of my ass and shook the cheek.
“You never cease to make me come harder than I ever have in all my years.” Kroven shook his head.
“Quite the compliment coming from someone who’s been alive for hundred of years.” I giggled.
We got out of the shower and dressed fairly quickly. I finished putting on my clothes while Kroven went to the kitchen to replenish on blood. There was still a little twinge in the back of my head that wanted him to bite me, but every time it appeared like a lost light in the night, I brushed it aside. I knew that Kroven had real trauma associated with biting humans and I would never force him into that precarious space where he could relapse from his abstinence. But the way he’d described it…the chemical reactions that gave both human and sangamar a rip of unwavering pleasure. I wanted to experience that. I wanted to experience that with Kroven.
Perhaps in a few years when he knew he was safe with me there’d be a way to explore that. Twenty years was a long time and I’d only want to do it if Kroven felt comfortable. The past lingered in his eyes and I wouldn’t do anything to disrupt that, especially with us meeting with Exo and Wallace soon.
As if on cue, there was a knock on the door as I came into the living room. Kroven had just downed his serving of blood and eyed me with a smile at my styled hair.
He walked over and answered the door, greeted by the bearded smile belonging to Wallace Watson. He gave a nervous wave to Kroven as my favorite sangamar moved aside to let him in. Exo followed, giving Kroven a knowing nod as they both entered the house. Walking over to the living area to greet them, I smiled and gave a lopsided grin that was equal parts nerves and confidence.
“Thanks for meeting us early,” Wallace nodded to Kroven. They’d texted right before our shower, one of the many reasons I’d wanted my non-human boyfriend to fuck me with haste earlier. “I wanted to deliver this good news in person.”
Kroven held out his hand for me to grab, and he pulled me close to his side as we stood in anticipation. “Don’t bogart the good news. What is it?”
Wallace’s grin grew, giving Exo a nod as the jacked sangamar handed him a piece of paper that was already perfectly laminated. The biggest words legible without reading over the entire thing was the acronym ORBIT.
“By order of the Speaker of the House, ORBIT is official!” Wallace gave a little laugh. “I’ve been promoted to Director of Orb Affairs. ”
I snorted with glee, shaking Kroven’s arm. “This is great news!”
“After hearing about the blood centers, it was quickly signed into office.” Wallace explained. “They don’t want to take the risk of the Orbs banding together like those idiotic protestors did. Their first act was making it illegal for anyone to attack Orb related establishments and labeled it as a class two hate crime.”
“Serves the bastards right.” I stated, only wishing that the ones that had upended my blood center were charged for what they’d done.
“But what does it mean exactly?”
Exo rolled his eyes at Kroven’s even and calm gone. “Ever the cynic, aren’t you?”
“I prefer the term cautiously optimistic.”
Wallace cut in between the sangamar stand off. Clearly neither had worked through their last interaction all the way. “I’ve been given the go ahead to cultivate a board of Orbs to represent the vast species of creatures that share the world with humans. We’ll be stationed in D.C. with our own dedicated office and everything. I’ll be working with this board to address issues plaguing the Orb community and taking action to make life better for everyone through human and Orb unity.”
“That sounds wonderful,” Kroven nodded, finally breaking the thin line of his lips to issue a smile. “I’m assuming you need help assembling this board.”
Wallace nodded. “You and Exo are the only Orbs I’ve met, so I’d need to know which species have the highest populations.” He tilted his head inquisitively. “How many creature species are there?”
“I’d love to know the answer to that, out of pure curiosity.” I added.
“Let’s sit, shall we?”
Kroven and I took a seat on the love seat while Exo and Wallace sat in the mirrored chairs on either side. The chair instantly brought up the memory of Kroven and I’s first sexual encounter, but I sure as shit wasn’t going to tell Wallace that as he sat down.
Ever the best host, Kroven offered to get them something to drink, but both of them politely declined.
“I told Wallace that the lycanthe and sangamar were objectively the largest species population wise.” Exo mused.
“Absolutely agree,” Kroven nodded. “Although I’m not sure it’s wise to limit this board based on population. For example, the virces have probably the lowest numbers by far as creatures go, but why should they not get a seat at the table simply because it’s actively harder for them to procreate?”
My mind went to Qwill, the only virces I’d met since I’d been with Kroven. Thoughts of cute and scaly virces babies ran through my head, making me smile but it fizzled as Kroven’s words rang in my head. What made the virces so hard to reproduce?
“Hey, I’m open to suggestions, of course. My bosses only mentioned that they thought population was the best course of action.” Wallace cleared his throat. “I am more than willing to combat that notion if you think it’s best.”
“I do.” Kroven solidified. “I think both the virces and the olatsma deserve to be represented, being the lowest numbers of the creature community. You’d want as much representation as possible.”
Wallace pulled out his phone and started writing things down in his notes app.
I chimed in, suddenly curious. “How many Orbs are you allowed to have as a part of ORBIT?”
“As many as fifteen is what I was told, including me as the human representative.”
“That’s good then.” Exo clasped his hands together. “There’s thirteen known human-like creatures, but only twelve that are applicable. ”
“Why not the thirteenth?”
Both Kroven and Exo glared at Wallace, ending their gaze to share a knowing look. Kroven reached over and grabbed my hand, almost like just the thought of this thirteenth species made Kroven either want to protect me with affection or seek comfort from his boyfriend.
Which was really worrisome.
“We don’t talk about a certain species.” Exo explained. “There’s only one of them known to exist and….well, it doesn’t matter.”
Neither Wallace nor I were going to probe further on that matter. If there was a creature species that made the other Orbs antsy, we’d not want to deal with them anyway.
“Alright, then.” Wallace continued. “I’ll just need a list of the species. And I guess I can start canvassing for nominees from the respective communities.”
Exo and Kroven went back and forth naming the twelve applicable species. They rattled them off so fast my brain didn’t cling to the names for safe keeping. It didn’t help that my mind was wandering to this forbidden number thirteen. Why was it on the outs with the other Orbs? Was there only one left by design or by chance?
Wallace took the names of the species down, Exo correcting his spelling when needed. Looking up from his completed list of twelve, Wallace eyed Kroven with a look that said something that I could tell he wasn’t going to like.
“Speaking of the nominees,” Wallace gave Exo a nod. “Exo’s recommending you as the sangamar representative.”
Boisterous laughter absorbed the walls as Kroven cackled with abandon, squeezing our hands together as he waited for everyone to join in. No one did.
“You’re not serious, right?”
“Why not?” Exo shrugged, but regarded me quickly before adding, “I’m not sure what you’ve shared with your boyfriend ,” The word sizzled on Exo’s tongue, and I wasn’t keen to think it was a compliment.
“If you’re talking about the bite,” Kroven squared his eyes with Exo. “Then he knows all about it. I have nothing to hide from him.”
“Great,” Exo huffed. “Then even he can see why you’d be the perfect candidate. Look how far you’ve come. You represent the good, the bad, and the in-between of the sangamar experience. Your insight is invaluable, Kroven.”
“I agree.”
Shock doused my face. I knew that Kroven felt beholden to Exo for how he’d helped him through his former addiction to biting humans. But he’d never given any indication that he’d want to be a part of something like this. In fact, he’d seemed pretty dead set against it.
“But there’s no way in hell I’m going to be the shining light of the sangamar community.” Kroven stood up abruptly. “All it would do is bring me out of obscurity, my self-chosen obscurity, and I don’t want anything to disrupt my life.”
“The life of a recluse, you mean.” Exo sighed.
“You may not agree with my lifestyle, Exo, but that doesn’t make it wrong.” He didn’t sound angry, but his words held heft. “I don’t want to argue with you. I want to move past the feelings of anger and debt I have towards you. That’s not going to happen if I do something like this.”
Exo stood as well, but he looked more hurt than anything. Wallace and I remained seated, just in case. “You don’t owe me anything, old friend. I never meant for you to feel this way towards me.”
“It’s not your fault, klashayf. ” Whatever that word meant in sangamar, I could tell it meant a lot to Exo to hear it, his eyes bubbling with emotion. “It’s mine. It’s something I need to work through. And if this garners the attention I imagine it will, other sangamar will have me being the face of their fate. My old community would know exactly where I am. My parents would know exactly where I am. And I’d rather die than give them access to me again.”
My heart hurt for Kroven. He still had so much hatred toward the past, for good reason, but all I wanted was to help him release it so he’d be able to truly move on. By his own words, he wanted that more than anything and wanted nothing to get in the way of that future healing.
“Exo, you’re the best candidate and you know it.” Kroven closed the space between them to clasp a hand on his shoulder. “You’re the strongest and kindest creature I’ve ever met. What you did for me…your knowledge of how you helped me move past the bite, that’s what this board needs. It needs you.”
Tears fell down Exo’s cheeks as he forced Kroven into a hug. Laughing, Kroven accepted it and patted Exo’s back as the beefy sangamar sobbed like a baby. I shared a smile with Wallace. It was comforting to see creatures be so human. There really wasn’t that much difference between us besides some scales here and some blood dependency there.
The friends separated, and Wallace stood. “For what it’s worth, I agree with Kroven.” Kroven sauntered backwards and I lifted myself off the couch to meet him in front of the company. “What do you say, Exo? Want to officially work together and be the sangamar representative for ORBIT?”
He nodded, sniffling as he playfully shoved Kroven away. Laughing as he was rocked onto his heels, Kroven shaking his head. “Not a great start to our working relationship by you seeing me lose my cool.”
“Actually, it was nice to see.” Wallace snickered. “Made the veil between humans and Orbs seem very thin.”
“Agreed.” I said with a smile.
“Well,” Wallace scratched nervously at his beard. “We should get going. I want to get some more pictures and video of the blood center before we plan our trip back to D.C. ”
I’d almost forgotten about the state of the blood center. That was my next course of action. I wanted to see the damage for myself if I was able to. I needed to check with Babs and see what the chances of being able to sift through the remains were.
“I’m planning a press conference tomorrow at the blood center,” Wallace said as he and Exo headed to the front door. “I’m going to officially announce ORBIT and our plans of action. I’d be great if the two of you were there.”
Kroven looked down at me for an answer, but my smile was easily read. “We’ll be there.”
They quickly left and I pulled Kroven into my arms at the first chance I got. He groaned into my touch as I looked into his beautiful unique eyes.
“I’m glad you were able to soothe things over with Exo.”
“Me too.” Kroven let out a deep sigh. “I still need to work through my emotions connected to the past, but that was a lovely start.”
“What was it that you called him?”
He smirked. “ Klashayf . It’s the highest honorific you can give to a male friend. It means blood brother.”
“That’s so sweet.” I made a sad face, a faux display that the sentiment made me want to cry.
“Enough teasing,” He laughed, sweeping me into a quick kiss. “We have days of orgasms to make up for and you know I prefer doing the teasing.”
