“Imagine I’m laying you down on my bed, and I slip my hand up your skirt.”
“I thought I was naked.”
“Well, now you’re in a skirt.”
Callie laughed a little, taken out of the moment. “I don’t wear skirts.”
“It’s my turn; you hush,” he said sternly.
“Yes, sir.” She smiled.
“As I was saying, my fingers sneak underneath to touch you again. You’re so wet, I want to be inside you now, but I just put my mouth on you instead, sucking and licking you until I can feel you arching to meet my mouth. I’ll flick my tongue over your clit, taking it between my teeth lightly. I can feel your legs trembling as I love you, fingers and mouth everywhere.”
Callie pressed hard into her clit, rubbing faster as the pressure built, his words crashing into her. A soft moan escaped her lips as the first wave of orgasm washed over her.
“Oh, God, Callie,” he said, his voice strained.
A few seconds later, she heard his low groan and rapid breathing. “Come for me, Rhett. Please.”
He chuckled in her ear, and it was like a caress across her skin. “I already did.”
She stretched and groaned. “I’ve never done that before.”
“What, phone sex?” he asked.
“Yeah. Hang on, okay?”
“Sure.”
She got up and walked into her bathroom to wash her hands. When she flipped on the lights, she squinted at herself in the mirror. Her cheeks were flushed, and her hair looked like it had been messed by actual hands.
Callie wondered if Everett looked just as rumpled.
She climbed back into bed and grabbed the phone. “Still there?”
“Yep,” he said. “But I think you wore me out.”
“Oh, I did, did I?” she said, playing with her hair.
“I wish you were here with me, so I could hold you.”
Her chest tightened. Part of her wondered how she would be able to look him in the eye when she saw him again. She wanted him, so badly, and had thought of little else, but was she ready to have him over, in her bed? To be intimate with a man, and not just fuck and leave, would be a big step. Tristan was the last man she’d shared anything more with, and she definitely didn’t want to think about him right now.
But Everett had been so understanding, so amazing, that part of her wanted to throw caution to the wind and say, “Come over.”
“Really? Now?” he asked.
Holy shit, did you just say that out loud?
“Oh, I . . . ”
He didn’t say anything, as if waiting for her to be clear.
Why had she said that aloud? Panic started to claw up her throat as she tried to speak, prepared to tell him that she wasn’t ready.
“It’s up to you.” Everett was clearly letting her off the hook. “I’m okay with lying here, just talking. But if you want me to come over, I promise I won’t touch you unless you want me to.”
Trust. He was asking her to trust him with her safety, in her sanctuary. She hadn’t slept next to a man in seven years, but the thought of having Everett’s arms around her was a temptation she couldn’t resist.
