“The nursery. Everything else is good to go.”

“Alright, man, let’s do this.”

By the time we’re done and get back to the clubhouse, Legs is curled up on the sofa, dozing off on Crane’s shoulder. Amity is sitting on the other side of her, playing cards with Nevaeh, Havoc, G, and Toot. From the looks of it, Nevaeh is losing dismally.

“I swear you guys are dirty cheats.”

“Yes, it couldn’t possibly be that you suck,” Amity teases her.

She looks up and spots me, her eyes softening when she takes me in. “You finished?”

I look to Legs to make sure she’s out and nod. “All done. Kruger helped me finish.”

“How exciting. She’s gonna love it.” She clasps her hands like she’s the one moving in, the goof.

“Alright, I’m going to get her home.”

“Cut came in this morning,” Havoc announces.

“Yeah?”

He nods as I move and scoop Legs up into my arms. She stirs before tucking her head under my chin.

“We’ll give it to her at the party on Saturday.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

“She show you the photos?”

“Of course she did. You ready for a little girl?” G questions.

“More than ready.”

“I’m happy for you both. I’m glad you stepped up.”

I nod, relieved that the sperm donor didn’t. Yeah, the three of us would have made it work, but I’m a selfish bastard and would hate having to share them. “I’ll catch you guys later.”

I head for the door and almost bump into Kiki. “Hey Midas, I’ve got a bunch of things my grandfather left I thought I might bring by Au. I don’t really know what they’re worth and figured you would.”

“I can have a look. It will have to be in the next couple of days, though, because I’ve sold Au.”

She looks shocked. “But you live there.”

“Legs and I are moving into our new place this weekend, but keep it on the down low. It’s a surprise.” I wink, moving past her, nodding to Ambros when he gets the door for me.

Legs doesn’t wake up when I put her in the truck or when we make it home, only stirring when I undress her and put her to bed. I climb in behind her and pull her close, breathing her in, hoping like fuck she says yes to everything. I don’t just want to give her a new set of keys and my property patch. I want her to wear my ring too.

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Legs

I huma little tune as I dust the shelves, wincing when I receive a kick to the ribs. As my little girl gets bigger, there’s less space for her to twirl, much to her annoyance. I’m pretty sure by the time she comes out, my ribs will be black and blue.

“I’m going to make a run to the sandwich place. You want your usual?” Midas asks, stepping up behind me. His hands cupping my stomach, of course, make my kiddo kick out once more.

“Wow, missy, you getting feisty with your mom again?”

He drops down into a crouch and lifts the hem of my T-shirt, exposing my belly before pressing his lips to my bump.
