Westley
Jules and I walked the path from the cabin to the woods.
Each of the cabins had a trail that led to the woods so that they were easily accessible.
Along the path there were benches with little lockers where you could put your belongings while you shifted.
Based on the smells in the air, we weren’t the only bears around.
I sensed another grizzly, and perhaps a panda nearby, as well as several wolves and some cat shifters.
Nudity was not uncommon amongst shifters, nor was it anything to stare at or be surprised about, and being that this resort was the type that catered to people looking for companions, I had noticed more than once throughout the day that nudity was also encouraged in other places.
I was pretty sure I had witnessed multiple people getting blow jobs and other types of sexual activities going on throughout the day as well in very public places.
If Jules noticed, he hadn’t said anything, though I had caught his cheeks reddening more than once while he tried hard to look anywhere except at the people partaking in the intimate acts.
Exhibitionism wasn’t my cup of tea, but it seemed many other people were enjoying themselves, and good for them for finding a safe place to explore their kinks.
I held his hand as we walked to the woods.
There weren’t many people around, but it just felt comfortable to have him close to my side.
I blamed my alpha instincts for kicking in and protecting this omega in need, but in reality, it was Jules who drew me in.
My bear reacted to him like we never had to anyone else before.
I hadn’t let Jules out of my sight for most of the day, and more often than not, I found myself putting a hand on his arm or holding him in some way. I was only content when I was touching him.
We found a bench that wasn’t occupied, and I began stripping off my clothes, trying not to look as Jules did the same.
He didn’t need to be ogled by me or anyone else.
When another alpha walked by and gave Jules a once-over, I let out a growl.
If looks could kill, that alpha would have been a dead man.
The man held up his hands. “Sorry, dude, my bad.” He bared his neck in response.
“What was that about?” Jules asked, and I was forced to look at him. It wasn’t a hardship, except for the part where, if I looked too long, it would become a hard ship. I tried to clear my expression. The last thing I wanted to do was scare him.
Jules’s face held genuine confusion as if he had no idea that the other alpha was looking at him.
Good. He shouldn’t notice any other alpha except me.
I shook the barbaric thought away. Jules wasn’t mine.
I had no claim on him, and unless I was willing to court him properly, I couldn’t expect him to have eyes only for me.
Besides the first day when he offered me a hand job two minutes after meeting him, he hadn’t expressed an interest in me.
If anything, he seemed wary of me still.
“Nothing,” I said. “Shall we shift?”
He smiled, his eyes lighting up. “Yes. My bear has been itching to get out. I don’t know why he’s so close to the surface these days.”
We both shifted, and I took in the sight of the little black bear before me.
Just like when we were in human form, Jules was smaller than me.
My large frame overshadowed his. He stood on his hind legs, and I stood on all fours.
He still barely looked over my back. His dark black fur was shimmery in the sun, much sleeker than my dull brown.
I found myself with the overwhelming urge to make sure that he was well fed with sweet treats. His bear form was slimmer than it should’ve been. He should’ve been plump and round.
I lumbered off into the woods, following the trails that were there.
He followed after me. I let my nose lead me, sometimes going off the trail, sometimes following it, until I found a patch of wild berries—or perhaps they were specifically planted by the resort so that bears and other shifters who enjoyed berries would find them—either way, they smelled delicious, and they would work to make sure Jules was well fed for the afternoon.
The berries were good-sized and plenty ripe, ready for picking. I snapped off a whole branch and carried it over to where Jules sat against a tree. He was rubbing his back against the trunk, working at an itch in his back. I dropped the berries at his feet, then nosed them closer to him.
Similar to when he was in his human form, his eyes lit up.
His little paws grabbed for the treat, and he munched away on them.
I went back for some more, making sure to grab a variety.
After several trips back and forth, Jules had a smattering of berries at his feet for him to enjoy.
He had berry juice staining his fur and dripping from his lips, but he was no longer hungry, and that was what I cared about.
When my bear was satisfied with how much we had given our Jules, I sat next to him, keeping my eye on the forest in case anyone who could be a threat came near us.
Which was silly. We were in the middle of an exclusive resort.
Nobody here was a threat. There was no threat to my Jules. I could relax.
Still, I wanted to make sure that he was safe, protected, and able to enjoy himself. He deserved all the things, least of all being a relaxing afternoon in his bear form.
When most of the berries were gone, he nosed the last bit of them to me.
I wasn’t hungry, but clearly he wanted me to have something, so I munched on a few of them.
The sweet juices burst on my tongue. Jules looked at me.
He had berry juice clinging to his fur, the sweet scent mixing with his natural odor.
What I really could have gone for was some salmon.
I lifted my nose to the air to see if maybe there was a pond nearby or a river.
If they kept the woods planted with berries, they probably kept the river or pond stocked with fish.
It would please me very much to be able to gift my Jules with a prize salmon, fresh from the river.
I smelled nothing, but still needing to go out and about, I stood and made sure that Jules stood with me, and then the two of us began our walk through the forest, side by side.
I made sure to keep a slow pace so that Jules could stay with me.
He frequently brushed up against me. His fur would be covered in my scent.
Good. Then other alphas would know he was taken.
We did manage to find a little stream. There were no fish in there—not any worth grabbing—but we got ourselves a drink. Then Jules lay down. Once I made sure the area was properly secure, I lay next to him, spooning my body around his so that he was sufficiently protected from all sides.
I didn’t let myself fully fall asleep, but I did doze a bit. Jules’s breath was even as he rested, his heart beating at a steady rhythm.
How crazy it seemed that I had just met this man the day before, and he was accidentally hired to be my companion, and now I couldn’t seem to get him out of my mind.
How would I ever return to my life without him?
I needed to learn more about him. Surely if he needed money enough to sell himself, he might be willing to relocate and come back with me?
Or perhaps it was too crazy to even suggest such a thing.
All I knew for sure was that I wasn’t leaving this resort without him.
My bear had decided he was ours, and I wouldn’t let silly human concerns get in the way.
Somehow in the next week I’d figure out how I could woo him. Jules deserved to be courted and spoiled in the most amazing ways. I’d win him over, that much I could promise.
