Westley

I forgot how tiresome it could be to ride on a plane.

I had only done it a handful of times and each time was just as miserable as the last, even when I splurged for the business class seats.

Planes were not made for men my size, nor were they made for shifters.

Between the recycled air and the too-close seating, it was an olfactory nightmare on the best days.

If I had infinite amounts of money, I would have purchased more than one seat for myself so that I didn’t have to be cramped next to other people.

Or perhaps chartered my own plane. But alas, I was a simple accountant, and this vacation was already putting a dent in my budget.

I spent the entire plane ride with my shoulders hunched, trying to take up as little space as possible.

And when you were bulky like I was, that was nearly impossible.

Also, I couldn’t stretch my legs out, which caused my knees to ache something fierce.

Perhaps a trip to the hot tub at the resort would be in order.

Had I gotten the cabin that had a hot tub with it?

I couldn’t recall, and I wasn’t reaching for my phone to pull up my reservation information to find out.

Once I got to the resort, after piling into an impossibly small car, I needed to relax, unwind, sprawl out on my bed and fall asleep for hours.

The hot tub could wait. I didn’t have any activities planned until the next day.

I didn’t have many activities planned for my entire vacation.

The only things I planned for were a shipwreck museum tour and snorkeling.

The point of this vacation was to relax and not be around people who would nag me about finding a mate, and I didn’t want to pack my day full of things to do.

If I wanted to do more things, I would find them.

I went to the desk to check in and gave the lady my name.

She smiled broadly. “Oh, congratulations, sir. I see that you are one of our members who opted for the staff training package. We thank you for that, and we look forward to your stay. Since you’ll be part of the staff training process, we want to make sure that the staff provided to you suits all of your needs.

” She emphasized the word all. “We’ll have one of our member specialists reach out to you each day to make sure that everything is to your satisfaction.

Also, throughout your stay, we’ll add gifts and treats to your cabin for you and your companion to enjoy.

If you have any concerns or special requests, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to serve you.”

“Of course,” I said. “I’m sure everything will be perfect.

” Gifts and special treats? Companion? What sort of place did my sister send me to?

All I wanted to do was get to a bed and rest. The travel hadn’t even been that long, just a few hours, but I was wiped out.

When I’d opted for the training package, I didn’t expect to have to do much besides fill out a survey or something.

“Indeed,” she agreed and handed me my key. “Your cabin is just outside these doors.” She indicated toward the opposite side of the building from where I came in. “It’s the fifth cabin down on the left.”

Boy, this place sure took their staff training seriously.

Based on what I could see looking around, just about every guest had a person attached to them wearing something that had the resort logo.

The dress code must be pretty lax as well, since some companions had very short shorts on that were borderline obscene.

I shook that thought away. People could wear whatever they wanted, and good for this company for allowing people to have that freedom to wear what made them feel comfortable.

At least I hoped they were wearing it by choice.

I wouldn’t be wearing any of the shorty shorts, but good for those who could.

I hefted my bag over my shoulder and made my way to the exit.

The heat hit me when I walked outside, the blast of hot hair making me rethink the short shorts thought.

Cabins lined the path on either side of the main building.

They were small but nicely made and would be perfect for me for the next week.

As long as I had a king-sized bed and a big shower, I’d be happy. The cabins promised both.

After a short walk, I found my cabin easy enough, and when I held the key against the door, the green light lit up and the lock disengaged.

I pushed the door open and was immediately hit with the cool air. The buzz of the air conditioner provided a nice lull. I wheeled my suitcase inside. The room wasn’t huge, but it was roomy. I expected to find a lush, comfortable bed for me to collapse in.

What I did not expect to find, though, was the most enticing omega ever sprawled out on my bed wearing the pair of shorty shorts I had just been admiring on another one of the staff members.

He squared his shoulders when he saw me, his eyes flashing with surprise, his neck craning to look up at me. He blinked away his immediate reaction and schooled his features. He blinked up at me, his long lashes fluttering with the movement.

“Hello, my name is Jules. I’ll be your companion for the week.”

Companion.

The word resonated with a whole new meaning when he said it. The blush that swept over his cheeks and down his neck disappeared under the too-tight polo he wore.

“I’m here to service you in any way that you desire.

” His gaze slid over to the nightstand, where there was a box of condoms and a pump bottle of lube.

Enough to last me a year or more by myself.

“Would you like anything after your travels? Perhaps you need a r-release before you rest for the evening?”

My eyes widened. What the fuck had I just walked into? Surely I had not heard him right.

“I’m sorry. What now? What are you asking me?”

His cheeks tinted a deep red. “I was asking if you’d like a blow job or… or… or a hand job? Or really whatever you want. I’m here to service you.”

Yep. I had heard him right.

What the fuck had I signed up for?

“I think I must be in the wrong cabin,” I said.

“You are Westley, right? I was told to expect a b-big bear, and you are definitely that…” Jules flushed turned an even deeper shade of red as he looked me up and down.

Compared to him, I was massive. He would disappear in my bulky frame if I were to wrap my arms around him. My biceps was about the size of his slim waist.

“I am Westley. But I didn’t… This isn’t what I signed up for.”

Jules’s eyes widened, and his scent changed from nervous to terrified. “Am I not to your liking? Your reservation didn’t specify the type of companion you would like. I’m sure they could re-replace me with someone different. This is my first time and, um, you signed up for the training package.”

It dawned on me then what they meant by training…

My blood ran cold and my face dropped. If I looked at myself in the mirror, then I’d probably resemble a ghost rather than a bear.

“So that means that you’re, um…”

Jules nodded. “A virgin.”

“Right. And as my companion, you would…”

“Do anything you want. There’s a list of things we won’t do, but it’s not very big. I have it—” He went to grab something off the dresser, but I held up a hand.

“No. That’s okay. I won’t be—What I mean to say is that we won’t be doing anything like that. I-I had no idea what I was signing up for. I’m just here for a vacation.”

Jules’s expressive eyes widened again, this time filling with distress. He hugged his arms around his middle. “You don’t want me?”

Oh, that was a complicated question. My bear growled underneath the surface. We wanted Jules. There was no doubt about that, but not under these circumstances.

I found myself wanting Jules to want me, not just because it was his job but because I chased away whatever it was that was putting fear into his body, making him shake with it.

“I— It’s not that simple. I just didn’t know what I was signing up for.”

“Oh.” Jules stood, looking around the room. “I’ll just go then, I guess.”

My mind screamed for me to stop this. My bear nearly ripped through me and forced a shift—something that hadn’t happened to me since I was a teenager with more hormones than sense.

“No. Don’t go. Let’s… talk about this,” I said.

Jules’s once hunched shoulders loosened and his face brightened. “Okay.”
