Page 28 of A Quick Buck
Heat pooling between his legs, Noah quickly redirected his gaze back to his plate. “Whatever.”
“You cannot deny how effective it is.” Alistair laid his silverware down. “Even now, you’re thinking about my hands on you because you’ve barely dropped that ‘f-bomb’ you seem to favor so much.”
“Fuck you.” Noah wanted to argue, but he knew Alistair would call him out for lying.
Alistair laughed. “Charming. As always.”
Noah chugged his wine and grabbed the bottle to pour the rest in his glass. He could see Alistair staring at him, and he groaned. “What? Am I pouring the wine wrong too?”
“Yes.”
“Of course I am,” Noah mumbled.
“If you’d like, I can show you.”
“No thanks, gramps.”
“Really?” Alistair chuckled. “And you seemed so very eager to learn from me earlier. Mmm, I’m guessing today was your first time having a proper spanking, wasn’t it?”
“You gonna keep doing that?” Noah challenged instead, refusing to answer.
“Only if you intend on misbehaving again.” Alistair leaned close, smiling wickedly as he eyed Noah from head to toe. His voice was deep, almost a growl, as he asked, “Are you planning to upset me, dear Noah?”
“No.” Noah took his napkin from his lap and tossed it up on the table.
He couldn’t do the spanking shit again. He didn’t fully understand why he’d even let Alistair do that, and the humiliation was clinging to his skin like a cheap body spray. He had to lay low, stay out of trouble, and figure out how to prove his uncle was innocent.
Then again…
The only way he could get any information was talking with Alistair.
Shit.
“Are you finished eating?”
“Unless you wanna crack open another bottle of wine.” Noah flashed a dazzling smile. He could be charming when he wanted something. Maybe he could get the information he wanted on his own terms. “I mean, we had our dinner. We could work on dessert now. I’m very sweet, you know…”
“Ah, dear Noah.” Alistair shook his head. “And here you were doing so well.”
“What?”
“Playing your hand a little too hard, aren’t you?”
“What are you talking about?” Noah stiffened. “I just wanna have a little fun. Kinda got me interested in what Mr. Alistair Star is all about.”
“I’m not about fun.”
“Says the guy who was just playing with my asshole.”
“I think it’s time for bed,” Alistair said abruptly.
“Bed?” Noah laughed. “What am I, twelve?”
“Bed,” Alistair repeated.
“You’re serious?” Noah’s heart dropped.
“Yes, and I do not like repeating myself.” Alistair’s smile had vanished, and Junior was peeking in. It was clear he was not going to entertain any debate. “With some luck, your uncle will be back tomorrow. We can end this, hmm?”
