CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
JOLIE
“ B ennett,” I moaned. “Oh fuck."
He stared up at me from between my thighs with those heated moss-green eyes, his wicked tongue working my clit relentlessly.
I was slumped in Andrea’s white leather desk chair with my legs tossed over Bennett’s shoulders as I rode the adrenaline high of ridding the world of that duplicitous bitch with my own two hands.
My body had begun to shake as what I’d just done hit me, but Bennett had held me tight and consumed me with his kiss before he dumped me in the chair, knelt at my feet like I was his queen and he was my servant, then ripped through the crotch of my tights like they were made of tissue paper.
Now I trembled for a different reason.
Bennett wrapped his lips around my clit and sucked hard, driving two thick fingers into me without warning. I squirmed, my muscles tightening, the ball of pleasure building in my core with every thrust of his fingers before it burst.
He growled against my pussy as I came hard, and I had no doubt the entire Club would’ve heard my scream if Andrea’s office hadn’t been soundproofed years ago.
As I came down, I met his eyes again, the intensity of his stare never wavering as he ran his tongue slowly through my folds. “Why are we always fucking in front of the bodies of people we’ve killed, Bennett?” I asked with a soft sigh.
He hummed against my sensitive flesh before he rumbled, “Because nothing gets me hotter than the destruction of anyone who’s ever hurt you, Angel.”
If I hadn’t already been a boneless heap from Bennett’s masterful mouth between my legs, his beautiful words would’ve had me docile as a baby lamb.
For a minute, anyway.
I gazed fondly down at him—my broody, serious, perfect love. I ran my fingers through his chocolate-brown hair, mussing it just the way I liked, before my hazy little bubble was broken.
Bennett stood abruptly, yanking me to my feet as he went. He wrapped a firm hand around my neck and pulled me in for a filthy, possessive kiss, and I moaned into his mouth as I bunched the lapels of his suit tight in my greedy little fists.
Before I’d gotten my fill of his kiss, I found myself thrown facedown onto the surface of the desk, Bennett’s glass of scotch and some loose papers flying off the side. A big hand pinned me down as another flipped my skirt up to expose my ass to the beast behind me.
“ Bennett ,” I growled as I bucked under him. “I want to watch you fuck me.”
“That’s too bad, Angel,” he said lightly as he gathered my wrists behind my back, somehow still mindful of my sore shoulder even as he forced my limbs to move exactly where he wanted them.
He leaned down, pressing his cheek to mine as he growled into my ear.
“Because I want to fuck you just like this. I want you under me, submitting to me, screaming my fucking name. I’m going to own your body here in this office because you get to own my soul the rest of the time.
” I felt the soft silk of his tie loop around my wrists, and I groaned as I felt my pussy clench around nothing.
He went on, “So, you’re going to lie here and take my cock, and you’re going to fucking love it. ”
I was—I knew I was. I always wanted to fight Bennett tooth and nail at every turn, to prove I was powerful, his equal in every way, to show him what I was made of.
But Bennett knew what I was made of. He knew I was a force to be reckoned with and that I would do anything for the people I loved, including slitting the throat of the woman whose scheming had killed my parents and torn apart his mother’s home.
And fuck it felt good to be dominated by this powerful, wonderful man.
Still, I yanked on the tie binding my wrists behind my back and hissed, “Fine. Show me, then, Spencer. Fuck me like you mean it .”
I heard the sound of his zipper one second before he plunged that giant dick into me so hard, I shrieked. He held me steady, one hand pressing me into the desk while the other gripped my hip, and he pounded into me ruthlessly because he knew I could take it.
He knew how much I wanted it, craved it, needed it after the events of the night.
“Bennett, oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck,” I chanted as I felt my climax begin to crest again.
“Fuck yes, Angel. You look so fucking pretty with my tie around your wrists and my dick driving into your pussy. I’m going to truss you up like a fucking feast and keep you underneath me forever. Maybe I’ll even feed you my cock—I know how much you’re fucking craving it.”
I moaned, then I gasped as he increased his already brutal pace. “ Yes ,” I hissed. “Yes, oh—oh God, Bennett!”
I fell over the edge, and he let out a hoarse shout as he fell with me. Even the soft click of the door opening and closing couldn’t derail the train I was on. I was lost to Bennett, and he to me, until a throaty chuckle finally tore me from the clouds.
“Goddamn, Spencer,” Zach said as he stepped over the body on the floor without so much as a second glance. “Are you giving our Princess a reward for her hard work?”
“That looks like he’s giving himself a reward,” Noah mused, eyeing Elise with a wrinkled nose and a curled lip before he turned to us and gave me his big, beaming smile. “Hi, sweetheart. I see you got Bennett’s tie—were you not behaving?”
I grinned lazily at him. “I only behave for you, Noah. You know that.”
Bennett scoffed. He’d eased out of me and was busy untying my hands.
Then he rubbed my wrists gently before he flipped my skirt back down and pulled me down into his lap where he sat in Andrea’s chair.
He pressed a kiss into the crook of my neck before he retorted at Noah, “We negotiated. I got what I wanted. ”
“Mmm, well,” Noah said as he ran his deep blue gaze over the two of us. “You’re both a little gross. I think you should take Jojo upstairs to the shower while Zach’s cleanup crew fixes this mess.”
I nodded. I’d certainly made a mess earlier, but I was only just now noticing how much of it I was wearing. I looked at Zach. “Do you guys still have a special courier like you used for Silverman? I think we should send her head to James Spencer.”
His eyebrows jumped, and Noah also gave me a confused look. Bennett snorted like he wasn’t even surprised.
“Do I even want to know how you know about that?” Zach asked as he brought his phone to his ear.
I shrugged, pasting a nonchalant look on my face. “You’re aware I broke into the Club’s basement last semester. It just happened to be on a… busy night for you guys.”
Zach rolled his eyes. “Of course you were there that night. Of course you were.”
Noah shook his head with an amused smile. “Still full of surprises, sweetheart. It’s hard to believe we ever thought you were just a troublemaking scholarship student with a hot body and a smart mouth.”
“When in actual fact you’re a troublemaking heiress with a hot body and a smart mouth,” Bennett added.
I elbowed him. “You love me.”
“I do.”
Zach hung up his phone, then he moved to stand over the body on the floor. “Did she have a purse? The crew chief reminded me to search her for anything we wanted to keep.”
I motioned to the little black clutch that had landed a few feet away. “There. Get her phone at least.”
Noah trotted over to grab it, looking thankful the purse was relatively free of gore. “I’ll get this to Silver. Go get clean, you two. We’ll inform our friends that you guys are having some alone time after Bennett’s meeting in which nothing weird or violent happened whatsoever.”
I awoke the next morning in a pile of limbs in my bed in Knight Tower, the urgent buzzing of Noah’s phone on the nightstand pulling me from a lovely dream about being eight years old and building a snowman with the guys during one of the rare times it had snowed in the City.
“Damn it, Hargraves,” Zach croaked sleepily. “Answer that.”
Noah groaned, then he rolled onto his side and fumbled for the phone. “Yeah?”
“Sir.” I could hear Silver’s no-nonsense voice. “We’ve got it. You guys should get down here as soon as possible.”
I bolted upright, turning to stare down at Noah with wide eyes. “They got what they needed from Elise’s phone?”
Noah gave me a quick nod as he said to Silver, “Give us ten.”
It only took us nine to jostle Bennett awake, throw on clothes, and pile into the elevator.
We exited twenty-odd floors below our home and barreled through Knight’s IT floor like a herd of anxious elephants.
Noah let us into Silver’s command center with a press of his thumb to the scanner by the door, and we found Silver and Marcus alone in the dark room, both of them seated in front of a panel of half a dozen large screens.
“Boss lady!” Zepp crowed from one of the screens as we entered.
Well, everyone was here, then—Zepp had deigned to make an actual video appearance. His thin face was partially obscured by his low baseball cap, and his dark gray hoodie definitely had donut dust on it. He had his long auburn hair pulled into its usual low ponytail at the nape of his neck.
Silver glanced our way, still looking every bit the professional she always did—dark-framed glasses, fitted blouse, cropped black pants and sensible flats. If it weren’t for her shocking pink hair, I’d have thought she was one of my lawyers.
“Right on time,” she said, motioning us over. Noah slid into an open seat at the computers and logged right in.
Zach and I dropped onto the small couch nearby, and Zach’s big hand fastened around my thigh immediately. Bennett remained standing, looming and rigid as he prepared to watch us finally land the killing blow on Spencer.
Marcus spun in his chair, looking disheveled and irritated about being here on a Saturday morning—which he really shouldn’t have been, since he and Silver both had extremely nice apartments one floor above us.
He was shorter than Zach but just as muscular, and he had even more tattoos.
There wasn’t a bare patch of skin on his arms or hands, and even his neck sported creeping vines that disappeared into his dark hair.
He eyed me warily as he said, “Silver informs me that I don’t want to know the details of how you came to possess Elise Proctor’s cell phone.”
I shrugged. “She waltzed into a meeting with Bennett and basically handed it over.”
Zach laughed at Marcus. “You cut your teeth in the Snake Pit and you’re afraid to hear about our Princess’s… abilities with a knife?”
He shivered. “There’s a reason I’m tucked safely in here and not on your security floor, Ferrero.”
“Marcus,” Silver snapped, and he rolled his eyes before he swiveled back to his screens. “Focus and prepare to deploy the package.”
Bennett vibrated with tension. “You’re sure this will work?”
“Yep,” Zepp replied. “You were right in guessing that Proctor would have the same access to all of Spencer and anything it touches as your father does. We were able to pull the cypher from what we could access on her phone. The whole Spencer system is about to get fucked in the ass.”
Silver glared up at Zepp, irritated but surely not surprised at his lack of professionalism. “Yes, we’re confident we’ll get in this time, Mr. Spencer.”
Bennett could only give her a sharp nod, his eyes glued to the screens like any of the code and other gibberish that was up there made much sense to any of us besides Noah.
Silver began the countdown. “In three, two, one… package deployed.” She hit one last key, then they all sat back in unison to stare up at the screens.
After a minute that felt like an hour, Noah slammed his hands on the tabletop. “Fuck yes!”
The middle screen went black, and a gorgeous design of a white horse appeared. Scrawled across the bottom in big, looping letters was the word: Checkmate.
I jumped to my feet, Zach and Noah followed, and we all converged on Bennett, who remained still as a statue, almost in shock. The guys clapped him on the back as I pulled him into a deep kiss, which he returned immediately.
“It’s done, Bennett,” I whispered .
He nodded. “He deserves it.”
James Spencer, and all of those who still stood by him, did deserve it. We’d just locked them out of every system we could infect, paralyzing the banks, hedge funds, private equity groups, and other white-collar businesses in the Spencer empire.
And unlike similar ransomware attacks, we wouldn’t be unlocking them, no matter how much money they offered us. It would take even the most skilled computer genius at Spencer weeks to dig them out of this, and by that time it would be too late.
“She’s a beauty, isn’t she?” Zepp asked, motioning to the white horse. “Congrats, Jojo. Nearly to the finish line.”
Marcus produced a bottle of champagne from who knew where and made sure to pop the cork right next to Silver’s ear, and she hissed at him before swatting him on his large bicep.
I sank back into the couch and watched as everyone celebrated the culmination of years of work from Zepp and several long, hard months for Silver and Marcus.
After Noah reiterated to Silver for the third time that yes, it was okay for her to have a glass of champagne on the job, she finally took a sip as her eyes met mine.
“ Thank you ,” I mouthed.
She flushed, gracing me with a small smile and a respectful dip of her head.
Maybe someday when things calmed down, we’d see if we could get Silver to loosen up a bit.
But for now, we would wait.
