Page 10 of A is for Aftercare
“We do?” Corey sits next to me. At least he’s not going straight back to his marking.
“I’m going to be Hamish Cameron’s PA.”
Corey’s eyes nearly pop out of his head. “Are you kidding me?”
“Nope.”
“Wow. That must be a dream come true for you.”
I smile. It really is. Sure, he has a gruff exterior, and I hope I'd be doing something more exciting than making coffee, but holy fuck, I'm going to be working for Hamish Cameron.
“It hasn’t really sunk in yet.”
“That’s he’s your boss or that he’s a Dom?” Blake asks.
I grab a cushion and toss it at him.
Blake deflects it with his forearm, and it falls to the floor, too light to make a sound. “Do you want him to beyourDom?”
“He’s not a Dom!”
He isn't, is he? I gnaw my lower lip as I run back through what happened. I remember how he smiled ever so slightly the first time I called him 'sir'. The second time, there was an unmistakable twinkle in his eye.
“Holy crap. My boss is a Dom.”
Blake lets out a satisfied whoop. “Told you. What are you gonna do about it?”
I wipe a hand over my face. “N-nothing. He’s going to be my boss.”
“Boring.” Blake draws the word out, making the vowels extra long.
“Sensible,” Corey says.
"You would say that." Blake hooks his arms over the back of the armchair. "You're both boring."
“You’d screw your boss?” I ask.
He shrugs. “Maybe, if he was hot.”
Corey shakes his head. “That would be a dumb thing to do, and you know it. There are certain lines you don’t cross. Fooling around with your boss is one of them. It’s the quickest way to get fired.”
Blake looks away, his lips pinched.
“What’s the photo shoot you’re doing tomorrow?” I ask, hoping to placate him by changing the subject. We did kind of gang up on him.
“You’ve got a photo shoot tomorrow?” Corey asks.
“Yeah, it’s no big deal.”
“What time?”
“Uh…” Blake pulls his phone out and checks something on it. Probably the email confirming the job. “One.”
“In London?”
“Yup.”
Corey and I look at the bulletin board on the wall at the same time.
