“You’re close,” he said. “I know.”
Hmm, what could it be?
Her heavy breathing?
Her hips cramming into his?
Or her nails digging into his ass to go deeper?
Had to be the last one because he removed his hand and then pounded into her as if he’d read her mind.
Her mind that just went as completely empty as their bodies while she came a second time.
He was finishing with her, grunting and groaning and then dropping like a heavy weight she never wanted lifted.
A few seconds later though, she realized she needed him to move because she couldn’t breathe.
“Micah,” she said, groaning. “You’re heavy.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled and rolled on his back and was staring at the ceiling.
She got on her side, propping herself on her elbow. “Are you okay?”
His head turned and looked at her. “I’m trying to decide if I’m having a heart attack or not,” he said.
She jumped up on her knees. “Oh my God. Where is my phone? I’ll call nine-one-one.”
She was off the bed and a foot away from the door when she’d heard a noise.
It was laughter.
Deep belly laughing.
Micah was holding his side and laughing so hard that she found herself doing it with him.
She marched over to the bed and slapped his arm.
He rubbed it as if it hurt when she knew it hadn’t.
“Jesus, Harmony. Do you really think I’m so old that sex with you would put me into cardiac arrest?”
She angled her body and put her hand on her hip. “I was pretty worked up. I’m out of breath too and I’m a lot younger than you.”
He reached for her arm and had her on the bed and under him before she even knew he could do that.
“I’ve got no problem keeping up with you,” he said. “Can you keep up with me?”
“Oh,” she said. “I hope you’ve got more than one condom in that box. Challenge accepted!”

SOME KIND OF COMMUNICATION
“You’re walking funny,” Micah said the next morning.
He hadn’t planned on having company for the night, but daring Harmony to keep up with him had sealed their fate.
He’d passed out about the same time she did. He felt the bed moving around at two in the morning and there was no way in hell he was letting her drive home and worry she might break down again, so he pulled her next to him under his arm where they both drifted back to sleep.
