camera instead. She didn’t look too bad. Christina normally got up for an

early morning run. She made it her routine, because hitting the gym had

never appealed to her. She did yoga almost every evening to de-stress and

decompress from work, or just ease the aches and pains out of her back,

shoulder, and neck that sitting for most of the day caused.

It was hard to concentrate on going over her meetings for the day and

the work she still had to get done from Monday and Tuesday’s meetings.

The only ‘good’ thing about Wednesday being pretty much a complete

write-off was that she didn’t have any new files to review from that jam

packed schedule.

She could hear the office buzzing with unusual conversation from

beyond her closed door. While she didn’t believe in gossip, she was curious

about what the heck was going on. Were people really talking about porn in

their reception area first thing in the morning?

Christina had meetings, but not until the afternoon. She spread out the

first file she needed to work on and was about to bend her head and get it on

its way in the long approval process, when her door opened.

Christina started, slapping the file closed. She was about to chew

someone out for disregarding her privacy, but then she saw that it was

Michelle. Michelle had an olive undertone with dark hair. She wasn’t one of

those people who went red easily, but she was entirely red at the moment.

“Sorry.” Michelle obviously meant that she hadn’t knocked.

“It’s alright.” Christina indicated the chairs in front of her desk. “What’s

going on?”

She didn’t bother pretending she didn’t know that something serious

must have happened. Michelle normally didn’t look like she’d walked in to

find a fiery bag of poo in the middle of her desk, but she did at the moment.

Disgusted. Disturbed. Angry. Frazzled. Horrified.

Michelle took a seat heavily. She leaned forward and basically face

palmed her forehead. When her hand came away, it was slick with sweat.
