Page 98 of Somehow You Knew
“Shit,” Dallas mutters.
I gape. The image of my oldest brother scrambling to retrieve a bondage kit, a strap-on, and another dildo is burned into my brain forever.
“Uh…” I manage, still stuck in horror paralysis.
“You guys have a nice night,” Gage finally chimes in, steering me away from my brothers and the evidence that they do, in fact, have sex lives. Apparently, very kinky sex lives.
I shudder, burying my head in my hands. “Oh God, oh God…”
Gage is trying not to laugh as he continues to guide me away. “I’m sorry, baby. But fuck…that was hilarious.”
“I’m never going to be able to look my brothers in the eye again.”
“Oh, come on, Spitfire. Everyone has sex.”
“Not my brothers.”
Gage scoffs. “I thought you were the one who encouraged Cashlynn to sleep with Parker to get him to snap? And didn’t you hit Penn in the head with a dildo at one of your passion parties?”
“That was different. There were no personal details or insights into their kin—” I can’t even say it without gagging. “How do you know about that anyway?”
“Oh, I learned all kinds of shit about your brothers while I was helping build Michael’s jungle gym… Like how siblings will go to some weird lengths just to get payback.”
The moment he says the words, I freeze. “What did you just say?”
Gage’s grin is growing wider by the second.
I take a step toward him, but my phone dings in my pocket before I can speak. When I take it out and see a text from Parker, I curse. “Fuck.”
Parker:Your face was priceless *laughing face emoji*
I lift my head to find Gage practically vibrating with glee, just as Dallas and Willow come around the corner, fighting to keep their composure. Penn and Astrid slide out from behind the display of condoms just as Penn whacks me on the back with the two-foot-long dildo he was holding earlier.
“I almost lobbed this at your face by the way, but I’m not as mean as you.” He tosses it to the side.
The chime above the door rings as Parker and Cashlynn come running in, laughing hysterically. “Oh, fuck! That was great!” Parker holds his stomach as he fights to control his laughter.
That’s when I spin around to find Gage shaking hands with Dallas and Penn, and then Parker. “You were in on this?”
“Payback is a bitch, little sis!” Parker exclaims, pulling Cashlynn into his side.
Gage shrugs. “I’m sorry, Hazel, but I only agreed to let him do this to you if we were all in on it, that way I wasn’t the bad guy.”
Astrid and Willow shrug, but they’re laughing too. “You have to admit that this was pretty funny,” Willow says.
“Funny? This was traumatizing!” I shriek just as an employee comes over to us.
She lowers her voice. “You’re making other people in the store feel uncomfortable. So, unless you plan on making a purchase, please put your items back and exit the building.”
Everyone mutters their apologies, replaces the items, and makes their way to the sidewalk outside.
“Ah, fuck. I feel like a changed man now,” Parker declares, amusement radiating off of him.
“How? How did this changeyou?” I fire back.
He leans forward and bops me on the nose. “The amount of therapy you’ll probably need after this should be equal to the amount of torture you put me through with Cashlynn.”
I point to his fiancée. “Yeah, but you got something good out of my meddling,” I argue.
