“This isn’t funny.”

Gage chuckles, opening his eyes back up and loosening his grip on me. “It’s a little funny.” He pulls out of me and walks over to the bathroom to deal with the condom while I slide off my desk and straighten my dress.

I glance in the mirror, fixing my lipstick and taming my tousled hair, just as Gage comes up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my neck. “Fuck, I needed that.”

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“More than okay because I got to be inside you again.”

I laugh. “You act like we didn’t have sex in the shower before I left for work.”

His lips travel over my skin to my ear. “I know, but I’m going to get home late tonight and then I have to leave early Friday morning for your brother’s bachelor party trip. I need to have you as much as I can before then.”

I close my eyes as his mouth continues to move over my neck. “Just don’t go with them then. Stay home with me.”

He groans in my ear. “I want to, but Parker insisted, and I don’t want to piss them off any more than I have.”

“I hate to break it to you, but when they find out we’re having sex, they’re going to be pissed whether you go on that trip or not.”

“Who says they’re going to find out?” he asks.

Looking at him in the mirror, I reply, “The grin on your face says it all. You haven’t smiled like that since you moved to Carrington Cove.”

“The reason I’m smiling is because I’m fucking happy for the first time in a long time, and that’s because of you.”

My heart climbs into my throat. “You really mean that?”

“Yes.” He presses his lips to mine. “You’re making me reevaluate some things, which is fucking terrifying, but I promise you, this is more than just sex for me, Hazel. Okay?”

I nod. “Okay.”

With one more kiss, he releases me and brushes a hand through his hair. “I have to go. Axel has me doing a bunch of shit before my appointments today.”

“Okay. I hope you have a good day.”

“You too, baby. Don’t forget I want to take you somewhere tonight, all right?”

“I can’t wait.”

He winks at me and then heads out, leaving me alone for another hour until my next client comes in.

I stare at my desk where Gage just fucked me and sigh, reaching for my phone because I need someone to talk me through everything that has happened this past week.

“Hello?”

“Hey, Laney. Are you busy?”

“I have twenty minutes before my next client, so I’m shoving food in my mouth. But I can listen. What’s up? Has Gage been fucking you all week with his magical, bejeweled dick?”

I roll my eyes as I begin to pace my studio. “It’s not bejeweled. There are no jewels on it, okay? It’s a Jacob’s ladder with barbells.”

“God, I’m so jealous. That’s so fucking hot. I always heard there were men out there who would endure the pain for penis jewelry, but I thought it was just a myth.”

“Not a myth. And I am definitely enjoying every inch of his.”

Laney giggles. “I’m glad.”
