Story: Set me Free
It was those little things about him, the times when I didn’t think he was paying attention and he proved me otherwise, that made it so difficult to not be in love with him.
"Creed…" I breathed, my fingers tracing the letters.
"I wanted you to have something special. Something from me and her."
I blinked back tears.
"You’re so damn sweet," I whispered leaning up to kiss him.
He smirked. "I know."
After Creed helped me out of bed, I found that breakfast had been laid out in the eat in kitchen. Creed’s personal chef was in the kitchen cleaning up.
“Morning Ma’am.” He smiled in my direction.
“Morning Lonzo.” I replied. “This looks good.”
“Thanks, I hope you enjoy.”
French crepes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage patties filled my plate and as soon as I sat down, I was stuffing my face. At 37 weeks pregnant, I had gained nearly 25lbs. The amount of working out I was going to have to do to get back in shape was almost daunting. But any time I brought that up to Creed, he told me I was trippin, how he loved the extra weight and if I did really want to lose it, I could join him in the gym with his trainer.
“After breakfast, you gotta get dressed.” Creed said stuffing his own face. “Got plans for you.”
“What plans?”
“You’re too nosey for your own good. Feed by daughter, then get dressed beautiful.”
Over an hour later, I was showered, dressed in leggings, a white t-shirt that barely covered my growing belly and some Crocs, before Creed was leading me out to a black Escalade waiting outside.
"Okay, but where are we going?"
"You ask too many questions," he teased, opening the door for me and helping me inside. “And it’s not we, it’s just you. The driver knows where to go. Have fun and I’ll see you later.”
“Wait, Creed?—”
Before I could finish my sentence he was shutting the door and the driver was pulling off.
Ten minutes later, we pulled up to Sanctuary- Camelback Mountain. It was a well-known spa in Phoenix, a place known for its luxury treatments and five-star service.
"Oh my God…" I gasped as we approached the front of the building. "He booked me a spa day.”
I couldn’t even stop the tears from falling at the thoughtfulness. The way he took care of me was beyond words.
I was pampered head to toe—a prenatal massage, a hydrating facial, a milk and honey soak, and a foot rub that had me nearly moaning out loud. By the time I was done, I felt like I was floating. As I walked out to the waiting area, Creed was standing there, waiting for me with a soft smile.
"Damn," he murmured, eyeing me up and down. "You look… refreshed."
I laughed, wrapping my arms around his waist, hugging him as best as I could with my big belly in between us. "I feel amazing. Thank you so much for this."
He kissed my forehead. "Good. Now let’s go home. I got one more surprise for you."
When I stepped into the house, I was greeted by candles and flowers everywhere.
"Creed…" I whispered, my chest tightening.
"Do you like it?" he asked, his voice low.
I turned, meeting his eyes. "I love it."
