Story: Gather the Storm
It almost sounded like an accusation, which was weird because we were just talking, the private moment I’d shared with Wolf fading in the rearview.
“Just saying good morning,” Wolf said.
“Looks more like you’re all the way up the princess’ ass.” Jace looked at Otis. “Both of you.”
“Aaaand this is where I sign off,” I said, grabbing my bag.
Making small talk with Otis and Wolf was one thing.
Jace Kane could go fuck himself.
Chapter 17
Neo
“Why the fuck are we doing this again?”
We were lying in bed, Willa lying on Drago’s chest, her long blonde hair spread out on the pillow, her perfect ass pushed against my thigh. She was only four months pregnant but already her body was softer and fuller, and I was getting used to my dick being hard 24/7 because the only thing sexier than Willa was Willa carrying our baby.
Rock stretched on the other side of Drago.
“Because he asked,” Rock said.
I stroked Willa’s hip. “So fucking what?”
“And because obviously whatever was going on at Aventine didn’t end with your dad,” Drago said.
That shut me up. I wanted to believe it was all behind us — the missing girls, the sick game my dad had been playing with the other Aventine alumni — but Drago was right: another girl had been kidnapped one town over the month before. Her body still hadn’t been found, but it was too much of a coincidence to actually be a coincidence.
After everything we’d been through with Willa, I wanted to settle in, enjoy it for a while, marry Willa, get ready for the baby.
But I wasn’t a fucking sociopath. The fact that girls were still going missing was a big fucking problem, one Jace Kane and his crew wanted to talk about.
I had no idea why three ex-cons who’d just gotten out of prison for killing their best friend would want to wade into the fucked-up swamp of whatever the fuck was going on, but Drago was right: the least we could do was meet with them, tell them what we knew, especially since Emma, Willa’s sister had been one of the victims.
“Can I have my cup of coffee now?” Willa asked. She stretched between us and the sheet fell off her glorious tits.
“Sure thing, kitten.” Rock leaned over Drago to kiss her and a minute later she was squirming, pressing her thighs together the way she did when she was wet and ready.
Fuck me. And by that I meant: please Willa, fuck me.
My dick was hard even though we’d fucked three times the night before. I was getting used to it: the way I always wanted her, the way I felt about her.
Because apparently real men had real fucking feelings. Or some shit.
That was what my therapist said anyway.
And yeah, I was in therapy. I’d resisted at first, but then Willa had said it would make us all better parents, that we needed to deal with our shit so we didn’t pawn it off on our kid like our parents had done to us, and what could I say?
There was no way I was fucking up our kid the way I’d been fucked up.
Our kid was going to have more love than he or she knew what to do with.
Willa sighed dreamily when Rock pulled away. “I’m going to drink a whole pot of coffee by myself after the baby comes.”
Rock laughed. “That’s what you’re fantasizing about after that kiss? Because I’m thinking about fucking you into next Sunday.”
Willa grinned. “Well, thatanda pot of coffee.”
