“We’ll give you a ten-minute head start.” I smile and wiggle my fingers at him.

Kerian and I watch him stumble away.

“Ten minutes?” Kerian asks.

“More like fifteen,” I cringe. “We don’t want it to be too easy.”

“So, we aren’t going to shift?”

“Fuck that. What fun would it be if we didn’t?” I frown at him.

He chuckles. “Do you want a beer while we wait?”

“Sure, why not?”

Kerian goes to the kitchen, leaving me to lean on the railing and listen to the idiot stagger through the woods. God, he must have had more help than just Carol. This moron couldn’t be stealthy to save his life.

“I haven’t had this much fun in years,” I say as I take the beer Kerian holds out to me.

Kerian toasts with me. “I haven’t either,” he admits.

My plan is working. What else can I do? Kerian needs to come to the realization that his pack needs him. He has to step back into his leader role.

I grin evilly.
