“Speaking of, I found this.”Lifting his hand, he swings my black bra from his finger.“Do I want to know how it ended up under the seat?”
“Probably not. Thank you,” I hiss, swiping it from his finger.
“She smelled like sex.”
“She had the time of her life.”
“We rocked her fucking world,” a very rough and sleepy voice says from behind me. “Stop smelling my girl’s underwear, Cirillo,” Seb grunts, pulling me into his body and cupping my face with his hands.
Theo huffs in frustration. “At what point did I say that I—”
“Morning, baby,” Seb’s lips brush against mine and all of Theo’s words just melt away.
“How are you feeling?” I ask when he releases me.
“Better than I should, I’m sure. You making coffee?” he asks with a wink.
“Sure, go sit down.”
“Yep, I need to tell my boy all about my hot-as-sin car racing girl.”
“He already knows,” Theo mutters. “I was tracking her fucking speed.”
“You’re telling us you’d have turned down that little drag race?”
Theo’s eyes find mine and Seb looks between the two of us curiously.
“W-what? What did I miss?”
My lips part to explain, but Theo beats me to it.
“Stella thinks it was a Reaper.”
“R-right. And that’s a problem why?”
Seb and Theo are still discussing theories when the doorbell rings a while later.
“I’ll get it,” I say, rolling my eyes when neither of them makes a move to get up.
I press my finger to the button beside the screen that shows me who it is. “It’s my dad,” I tell the guys before letting him in.
“Stella,” he says, his brows pinching in concern when he sees the healing cuts on my bare legs.
“I’m fine, Dad. Just a few scratches.”
His brow lifts at my attempt to smother just how serious Friday night could have ended up being.
We’ve spoken on the phone since that night, but he couldn’t exactly come rushing to my aid seeing as he was sent to the other end of the country soon after.
Seems to be a theme these days.
“When did you get back?” I ask, opening the door wider and allowing him inside.
“Late last night.”
As I follow him up the stairs, I can’t help but feel the huge cavern between us that never used to be there. All my life, I’ve been his little girl, but since being here, everything has changed.
I don’t feel that I’ve changed, but maybe he would suggest differently.
