“I’m not leaving my car here,” Theo slurs.
“Then you either need to let Toby or Stella drive it,” Alex happily announces.
Theo’s eyes hold mine.
“Fuck off,” he barks. “You fucking played me.”
Holding my hands up in defense, I plead my case. “I didn’t force you to get off your head. That was entirely your choice.”
“I’m helping my brother.”
I glance at Seb who’s completely fucking stoned and staring at our joined hands.
“And he appreciates it. Now make a decision, because Toby needs rest.”
Theo looks utterly torn as we climb to our feet.
“What’s worse, handing her over to a careful driver or abandoning her in a deserted parking lot all night surrounded by ghouls and ghosts?”
“I will gut you like a fish if you hurt her.” His warning might be similar to the one last night, but there’s no weight behind this one. And it’s not just because he’s wasted.
“Don’t worry, boss. I won’t be testing your knife skills anytime soon.”
“And if he pukes in it, you’re sorting the valet.”
“Fine,” I agree excitedly, bouncing on my toes as I hold my hand out for the keys.
He’s anything but enthusiastic as he hands them over.
I squeal in excitement, happily taking them from him.
“I’ll take good care of her. Promise,” I shout before unlocking her and dropping into the driver’s seat. “Just get him home and in bed.” I nod in Toby’s direction as Seb stumbles around the hood of the Ferrari, ready to get inside.
“I can’t believe you managed this,” Seb slurs from the passenger seat.
“Stick with me, babe. You ready for some fun?”
“Hell yes.”
I start the car and press the gas, letting the vibration of the powerful engine flow through me.
I glance over at Theo. His face is pale as he stares back at me.
Lifting my hand, I flip him off, laughing like a lunatic as I gun it out of the parking lot.
Beside me, Seb howls with laughter, the sound of it soothing my soul as I make my way through the quiet streets of London.
“You know he’s expecting you to go straight home, right?” Seb slurs.
“Yep. And he’s going to be disappointed.”
