“Baby,” I breathe, dropping the tube, kicking my shoes off and pulling my already loose tie from my neck.

Still dressed in my shirt and trousers, I step into the shower stall with her, the water immediately soaking my clothes.

“Just… just let me look after you, okay?” I whisper into the top of her head as she clings to me.

She nods, her body beginning to tremble.

She puts on a good show for everyone else, appearing like this is just another normal day. But it’s not. It’s anything fucking but, and she needs to stop pretending that it’s okay.

“It’s okay to break, baby. I’ll hold you together. I fucking promise.”

A sob rips from her throat as her grip on me tightens.

We stand there, just holding each other, with the water raining down on us for the longest time.

“Let me wash your hair?” I ask when she begins to shiver despite the warm water.

Nodding, she releases her hold on me and turns around.

I don’t need to worry about there not being anything to use. Selene keeps every bedroom and bathroom stocked in this house as if it’s a fucking hotel.

Reaching for the bottle of shampoo, I squirt a blob into my hand and begin massaging it into her hair. The scent of smoke and burning is almost instantly replaced by its floral scent, and Stella immediately leans back into my body as my fingers work.

Her moan ripples through the air as I massage her head and she reaches back for me, wrapping her hand around my hip and holding onto me as if I’m her anchor.

“Good?” I whisper loud enough for her to hear over the water.

“So good,” she moans, just like she does when I’m balls deep inside her.

I rinse out the bubbles before running the conditioner through her lengths, using my fingers to untangle the knots.

“You’re good at this.”

“I grew up with three sisters. Couldn’t help learning a few tricks.”

“Well, I appreciate it.”

Leaving her hair for a bit, I reach for the shower gel and squirt a generous amount on my hands before rubbing them over every inch of her body.

Her breaths come out in short, sharp pants, her nipples pebble, and her moans are downright fucking filthy as I work, but I refuse to cave to it.

I make quick work of rinsing the conditioner from her hair.

Reaching out, I turn the dial, cutting the water off and step out of the stall, much to her frustration.

I grab a thick white fluffy towel from the heated rail and gesture for her to step into it.

“You’re getting water everywhere,” she points out, nodding at the puddle that’s forming around my feet.
