Chapter Fifty-Three
Jason
I walked up behind Holly where she was standing in the shade of a tree across the cemetery from her lover boy.
Despite that I’d chipped and neutered her gift to me, I couldn’t just leave Ro-Ro, my toy’s new female name, unattended in our apartment.
She wasn’t potty-trained yet, and I really didn’t feel like cleaning that shit up.
The bunker was empty now that we’d gotten rid of the Clown Bitch and the Vomit Comet.
That had been a fun one, pouring the epoxy resin over her while she was still alive and seeing the fear in her eyes as she choked on the clear viscous liquid.
Clown Bitch was just annoying, and I celebrated her death by branding my new toy.
I was even kind enough to treat the brand so it didn’t get infected.
Yeah, my toy was definitely regretting her decision to live, which brought a smile to my face. I didn’t care that Valentino had suspended my membership to his club for two months for lying about Holly’s submissive history. He thought that was a punishment, but I didn’t need his puny club now.
Not when I had Ro-Ro waiting for me in our new lair on the mainland.
We were done in Atelihai Valley. We’d spent the night removing anything of use before scrubbing the place from top to bottom.
I had flooded it this morning, sealing both it and its horrid secrets up.
We’d known when we started this that the increased police presence would eventually make it too hard to bring prisoners to Atelihai Valley, so Holly had planned to save certain people for last because they were not meant to be staged in this shit town.
Since I couldn’t have my new toy with me last night, I’d left her secured to a construction horse in the old fishery building we’d taken over as our new torture chamber with the largest thrusting dildo I had in my collection shoved up her ass.
I’d even been kind enough to put in a new set of batteries for her, not knowing how long I’d be away.
The tree Holly was hiding behind was far enough away that, even if the cop did see her, she was plenty fast enough to run away before he could approach. She shifted slightly, indicating she knew I was there.
“I didn’t realize you’d actually given me a gravestone.”
I shrugged. “I was fucking an embalmer around the same time. Christ, that woman was freaky—and that’s saying a lot coming from me.
Wanted me to fuck her over the corpse both before and after the procedure.
Asked her to fake the records of an additional body.
It was her idea to order the gravestone too.
Even fucked her on it after it was secured in the ground. ”
Holly turned, her short brunette hair covered by a skull cap. I was surprised to see she wasn’t wearing contacts. I couldn’t remember the last time she hadn’t had them on out where the public could see her and wondered if it had something to do with her stalking lover boy.
“You fucked her on my gravestone?”
“Actually, it was the one next to it,” I amended. Then shrugged, “She needed to know there was a body under us and obviously knew yours was empty.”
“Of course,” Holly deadpanned. “Details matter.”
I nodded. “Exactly. I hadn’t intended on needing it. But when we first talked about you going after your rapists, I figured it might come in handy.”
Holly turned back around. “Did they move the last four into the safe house?”
“Yup. We’ll have to silence the neighbors first.”
“Incapacitate,” she corrected sternly.
I let out a long overdramatic sigh, depressed at knocking them out instead of killing them. “If you insist.”
“You promised when you agreed to help me that there would be no senseless killing.”
I wondered if I was too old to roll my eyes and then decided that I didn’t care if I was. “Yes, Hols, I remember,” I said blandly. “Doesn’t mean it’s not a ridiculous rule.”
We both watched as her agent man squatted before the fake grave and started to clean it off. Fucking weirdo.
“Did you get what else we need?”
I unzipped my jacket and pulled out the case to show her. “Two syringes. More than enough to tempt the druggie.”
“Thank you.”
We were silent for another few minutes. I wasn’t an expert on body language, but I knew enough to mimic it.
People expected emotion, even if it wasn’t the right emotion.
Holly was now leaning up against the tree.
I couldn’t see her face, but I would guess she had some gross, lovesick expression in her eyes.
I didn’t understand it. Her cop’s dick wasn’t even that big. Maybe he can do more with his mouth than scowl.
“What’s your endgame here, Hols?” I asked. “Once the worm is dead, what then? We’d talked about getting out of the state and heading south. A new start. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to a place where I can become a nudist without fear of frostbite getting on my balls.”
She snorted before sobering. “I planned for everything, Jason. Or I thought I had. But how could I have possibly planned for him? For what he would come to mean to me?”
“I tried to warn you. You got in too deep, Hols.”
“I don’t need an ‘I told you so’ speech right now,” she snapped, tipping her head towards me without taking her eyes off of her agent with the talented tongue. “I need a plan that involves me still getting my revenge without losing him.”
“You’re asking the wrong man,” I told her honestly. “You said you’d kidnap him if needed.”
“That lets me keep him, but I would still lose him.”
I shrugged. “Not really seeing a difference, but okay.”
Holly opened her mouth to say something else, when she stopped and suddenly stood up off the tree. “Did you leave something at the grave?”
I stepped forward, more out of the shadows than she was, but we were too far away for the cop to make out our features, even if he did see us. “No.”
We watched as he picked something up and then started to brush it off.
“I can’t see what it is,” she complained.
I pulled a monocular from my pocket and brought it to my eye. “It’s a book.”
“A book? Whose book?”
I shrugged. “Can’t make out the name from here, but he’s opening it and reading something.”
“Give me,” she ordered, slapping her hand against my arm.
Annoyed, I paused for five seconds to piss her off before handing the monocular lens over to her.
She watched for a moment before saying, “There’s something on the inside that he’s reading. He looks both confused and intrigued.” Holly put down the lens. “This isn’t good. Who would leave something at my grave?”
“Looks like you have a fan.”
“Not funny,” she snapped. “This could be serious. What if it’s someone who knows I’m still alive?”
“Might be time that you finally get involved in lover boy’s work life,” I said with obvious insinuation.
Holly scowled. “I am not using him to get answers. We’ll have to see where he’s staying while he’s in town and break in to grab it.”
“Before or after we attack an FBI safehouse and kidnap the last four on your list before you go after the sheriff and the worm?”
Holly cursed. “It’ll have to be after. They’re moving them tomorrow, so we can’t delay.”
Anticipation of the fight to come made me hard. I was definitely going to need some time with my toy before we headed out, just to work off the extra energy. Sucked for her that Holly’s lover was stuck here while she was heading back to the mainland, or I might suggest the same for her.
It really was too bad she’d killed off Baby Dick. She could have strapped a dildo to him and used him for some stress release. Clearly, whatever it was the agent was doing to her wasn’t helping in that department.
