Chapter 36

Sam

My stomach is shaking. There’s the possibility that I’m more nervous than when I had my first date at the junior prom. Then again, there weren’t four other guys in the back of the sedan I borrowed from my dad.

I pull the flashlight out of my back pocket. I try not to use them too much. I’ve only got one solar battery bank to recharge them with, so I’m in the habit of fumbling around the ship at night in the dark or just waiting until morning to do whatever it is I need to do. “Can you see?” I smile over at her.

“Yeah, thanks.” Her blue eyes are gray in this light. We’re three steps down the crew stairs when she stumbles into me. I’m holding on to the rail and catch her.

“You would think it’s my first time on a yacht. Thanks for getting me.” She holds on to my arm. Her lips are plump. My heart beats erratically.

“I’ve got you. I’ll catch you anytime you fall.”

“I know you will.” We’re standing still on the stairs.

“We should get going. I like to conserve as much of the flashlight as I can.”

“Yeah, sorry.”

“No need for sorry, Haley.” We’re through the crew galley and down to her cabin. “What do you need?”

“I... I don’t know?” She opens a drawer, and I shine the light into it. “I guess a shirt.” She takes one, and a few other things, then grabs her pillow but drops it. “The ones in the guest cabins are a lot better.”

“They are.” I took one a few weeks into my drifting for my nest in the wheelhouse.

“Most of my things are already at the tree house.”

“Including your suitcase.” I wiggle my eyebrows at her. There are several things in her suitcase I want to see again. But this time on her, or in her.

“Sam Miller, did you have fun with looking inside of it?” She cocks her head to the side.

I gaze straight into her blue eyes. “Yes, I did. I apologize for invading your privacy. It was wrong.”

“Whoa. I mean, wow.”

My stomach twists. I guess I’m shocked that she’s so upset by it. I honestly didn’t think I was ever going to see her again. Of course I hoped. I dreamed of it. I dreamed of her finding safety, of both rafts being rescued, but?—

I shine the light on her so it illuminates her face more than the dresser in front of us.

“That is the most amazing thing,” she says. “You not only took responsibility for what you did, you apologized.” Her hands wrap around my neck, and she presses a kiss to my collarbone.

I’m taken aback.

“You, Haley Brewster, haven’t been around the right men.”

“Not until now. That’s true.” Her lips hit mine, and I’m lost in her. She pulls back, her eyes wide, and a switch flips. She excitedly shakes her hands. “I didn’t tell you about what we found?—”

Penny jumps up, a paw on my leg and one on Haley’s. Penny whines. “It’s potty time, girl?”

“I’ll tell you about it on the back deck.” Haley takes my hand and walks with me outside—she finishes telling me about the diamonds, and everything else they found, while we wait for Penny. It’s almost domestic, like an after-dinner stroll. Our weird version of normal.

Haley squeezes my hand as she finishes up. “Crazy, huh?” She yawns.

“Yes.” It’s a lot to take in. And I’m too tired to make sense of it all now. I follow her down the stairs, watching her ass on the way to the primary suite. There’s shouting. “Not the green menace, Zane. Have some mercy on us.” Dante punches a pillow, fluffing it. “Ah, Sassy, there you are. Tell Zane he can skip over Hulk Two because it’s shit.”

“I don’t know. I think I need to hear them all.” She steps into the bathroom with her new shirt as Dante groans.

“Sassy, you’re killing me.” Dante moans and holds up the sheet. “We have a system, Sam. You don’t get to jump the line. But on the bright side, it’s easier to get up and go to the bathroom if you don’t have the Viking’s damn calf thrown over your leg.”

“The fucker’s leg weighs a ton,” Easton says.

“Does not.” Calvin’s eyes are little slits. “Why the hell are you all yelling?”

Haley crawls into bed between Calvin and Dante. She smooths Calvin’s hair back, but I can tell she’s checking for a fever. “How are you feeling?”

“Like I haven’t drunk a case of warm beer and sliced open my foot in a while.”

She presses a kiss to his forehead. “You want to sleep on the edge so you can get up easier?”

“No.” He pulls her to him, and Dante puts his hand on her hip.

“You have a shirt on.” Calvin’s got the hem, and it’s gone before she can answer.

“You need to sleep some more, Calvin.”

His hand is on her breast, and I can’t look away. I should get ready for bed or at least move my dog. But I’m just standing here staring at them. Easton settles next to Calvin. Penny’s between the two of them.

Haley lifts her head. “You coming?”

“Come on, Captain. I promise to not spoon you. At least not tonight.” Dante laughs.

Zane sits on the side of the bed. “Little Bird wants Hulk. She’s getting Hulk. After the opening credits we see our hero David Banner working in a lab—” Zane stops and stares at me. “You ready, Sam?”

“Right, sure.”

Dante pushes a pillow at me, and I take it. It’s a really good pillow, but so are the sheets. Damn, I hadn’t thought of taking some of these before.

“Ready?” Zane asks.

“Yes.” The bed is really comfortable, and as Zane drones on, I remember how much I like movies, and he’s really good at describing the scene. I can almost remember the smell of the theater I saw it in with my brother Charlie. And this bed is a hell of a lot more comfortable than sleeping on the wheelhouse floor or even on the bed in my cabin. But it’s something else. Knowing that Zane is going to go take a watch, that there are others around me, that I don’t have to do it all... I drift off to Zane’s voice.

I’m disoriented when I open my eyes and see the carved beams on the ceiling. It takes me a minute to realize where I am. I’m pretty sure I haven’t moved at all since I drifted off. I stretch. Haley’s next to me, and Calvin’s on the other side of her. But Easton, Zane, Dante, and Penny are all gone. Haley wiggles back, stretching, and as she does, she wiggles into my crotch. My morning wood was already there. With her bare back and little underwear, I’m even harder. Her hand comes around and lands on my thigh.

I put my hand on top and lean over her. “Morning.” It’s then that I see Calvin’s eyes are open. He’s watching us.

“Sam.” His voice rakes low. “Chiefie.” He leans in and gives her a kiss.

“Are you doing okay?” Haley asks.

“Like I have stitches. But nothing else. There’s no throbbing. At least, not in my foot.”

Haley laughs, and fuck if it doesn’t make my dick jump. “Do you need me to get you anything?”

“Always such a good Chiefie. Yes, Haley, I do need something.”

“What?” She moves to get up, but his arm swings across her body to my arm. He pins her to the bed.

“You,” he says. And his lips are on her neck. He pulls her underwear off in a swift motion.

I’m frozen. But then she takes my hand and wraps it around her, placing it on her breast. She pushes even farther into me. My cock settles between her ass cheeks. My hips take off by themselves. My brain shuts off, and my body takes control. Between my thumb and forefinger, I roll her nipple. And she makes the most delicious mewing sound.

Calvin lifts his lips from hers. “She likes a little pressure. A little nip of pain. Don’t you, Chiefie?” His loose hand moves between the back of Haley’s hand and mine. He gathers her hair and tugs her head back. It’s then I realize his other hand is between her legs.

Her hips are vibrating between his hand and my cock. It’s fucking amazing. The noises coming out of her are enough to make me want to come. Calvin takes his hand out of her and licks his fingers.

Haley groans and instantly flips to me. Her kiss is full of hunger, and I’m not going to deny her. She pushes on my shoulder, and I go flat against the bed. Then she’s on top of me, straddling my waist. She rolls her hips, grinding up the length of my cock once and then twice.

“Haley, fuck.”

Her lips turn up in a smirk. Her blond hair is sticking out in every direction, but with the morning light behind her, she’s a damn angel. “That’s exactly what we should do.”

“Do it.” I grab the base of my cock, and with one move, I’m in.

She tilts her head back, rolling her neck, before her bright eyes shine back at me. “Sam.”

“You feel incredible.”

She tips her hips, and I slide in even deeper. And my eyes roll into the back of my head. I grip her hips. And damn if Green isn’t right. The tighter I grip, the more she flutters around me. I’m controlling the pace, but damn if watching her isn’t the most erotic thing I’ve ever experienced. Her eyes are closed, and when her tongue darts out of her mouth, licking her lips, my cock jumps inside of her.

She tries to change the pace, lifting her adorable ass higher and slamming back down into me. But I need this to last. I need for her to get everything she needs too.

The bed dips next to us. Calvin’s sitting, his bandaged foot jutting off to the side. Even with her on her knees, he’s taller than her. His lips are on her neck, and she turns her head to the side, giving him better access.

All I can think is that Dante was right: watching her get pleasure from someone else is something I could become addicted to.

Calvin moves his massive body until he’s behind her. My legs are running through his. His knees are against the sides of my thighs. His hands wrap around the front of Haley, covering her breasts. She leans back into him, and damn if it doesn’t sink me deeper into her. I’m not going to last. With my eyes gripped tightly shut, I release her right hip, trailing my fingers to her pussy. But Calvin’s hand is already there. My eyes spring open and down to where we are all touching. She’s fluttering.

“You’re close, aren’t you, Chiefie?” Calvin growls into her ear.

“It’s so good.” Her hips bounce on me, and the pressure of Calvin pushing on her clit has her flying.

She grips me and I’m lost. Stars blur my vision. My back bounces on the mattress. I’m yelling as I come. Words that aren’t even English, a garbled mess. “Haley,” is the only distinct word I get out.

Her shoulders slump onto my chest, her hair around my neck and arm. As aftershocks take me, our lips find each other like magnets, and I’m sucking on her tongue. Until she starts rocking again. She lifts her head, and our eyes lock. “Sam.” She chuckles.

“Haley,” I say.

I didn’t know how I would feel after sharing her. But Calvin’s lips are pressed to her shoulder. And when she bites her lip... she inches forward, sliding off me. She pushes Calvin to the bed. But she doesn’t straddle him. They kiss. I wait for the pang of feeling less. But it doesn’t come, and that confuses me more.
