ADRIAN RUBBED AT THE ring Ren had placed on his finger a month ago and frowned at the wrongness of it being on his right hand. That had been a necessary concession so that Ren could place the official gold and diamond ring on Adrian’s left hand during the state ceremony. Even knowing that, Adrian fought against the urge to switch it.

Only a few more hours, he told himself, then turned his attention to his reflection and the stylist who was busy fussing with his hair. He wouldn’t have thought there was much to do with his appearance, but he should have known better. After two years with Ren, he was used to the primping and polishing that went on before a public appearance, used to putting himself in the hands of the publicist who would determine what he wore and how he would look, used to every detail being analyzed and assessed on social media and by the gossip sites. He was a public figure now: the fiancé of one of the hottest royals, soon to be—officially—his husband. Oh, my God.
