For example, Nicolas turns more savage as wolf during the full moon. Grayson utilizes this by having him patrol on those nights. Gives him a sense of pride instead of feeling odd aboutit.”

I imagined Nicolas roaming the territory to protect his pack. Admiration for Grayson filled me. The alpha utilized what others might perceive as weaknesses, turning them intostrengths.

“As for me, Grayson never pressured me to eat with the pack again, except when we hunt during the full moon.” Stephan sipped more wine. “Those are my favoritetimes.”

“What about Grayson? How is hedifferent?”

In the soft glow of candlelight, I saw his expression turn guarded. “He’ll tell you, in time. It’s his story totell.”

Huh. I’d heard the same from Grayson about Stephan. I wondered about thealpha.
