He tosses me the crayon when I motion for it and I readUntil the sun shines out our assholesyellow.
“What the fuck does that mean?” I ask incredulously.
“Fuck if I know. I’m sure our goddess will explain it to me later,” he replies.
“For the love of-” is all Vesta says and thrusts the crayon into my hand.
I pass it to Mars while laughing uproariously.
Not-so-virginwhite.
“She’sstillnot over that?” Mars wonders.
“Apparently not,” Vesta says crisply.
She peers over to her younger consort and I try not to shudder at the age difference. That would be hypocritical considering the thousands of years age difference between Zahra and the rest of us.
“What does yours say?” Vesta asks Water.
“Overdue bookblue,” he responds with puzzlement, looking to Zahra for an explanation.
“Blue for water and overdue book because you havefinewritten all over,” she jokes flirtatiously.
Vesta glares at her and all my brothers and I growl in unison, but Zahra just laughs merrily.
“Because Mrs. Gerty was a librarian, sheesh you guys!” she announces.
We all relax.
“What’s yours?” I ask Pluto.
“I can’t fecking open the damned thing,” he says in his thick brogue. “Why’ve you stopped opening yours?”
I don’t say anything.
“You’re afraid, aren’t you?” he chortles.
“No, I’m waiting. Patience is a virtue.”
“I don’t understand how you can sit so comfortably with that giant stick shoved up your British ass,” Zahra comments when she hears my response to Pluto’s question.
“Same way you sit on us, lass, when we’re shoving our dicks up yours,” Pluto rejoins smoothly.
I raise a brow, impressed with the comeback and Zahra tries to glare at him.
“Will you please not say things like that around my parents!”
“Your parents aren’t here,” Pluto points out.
“Where did they go?” Zahra wonders.
“They’re fucking on the back patio, I think,” Merc supplies.
