“Why is everyone in the loop but me?” I ask rhetorically.
Nyam snorts, “You’ve never been in the loop.”
He walks over to where Mio is holding me captive and places a sweet kiss against my mouth. And another. And another. I struggle against Mio so he’ll let me loose, but the bastard keeps me pinned to him.
Finally, I quit fighting and sag into Nyam, sobbing, “I thought I’d lost you.”
Nyam pulls me to him then, rocking me gently back and forth.
“I thought I’d lost you all!” I wail like a child.
When I finally quit ugly crying, I brush my hand to wipe my tears away and black mascara streaks it. I start laughing; so much for being sexy!
“Little girl, I swear we’ll never get you. One minute you’re bawling, the next laughing. What’s so damn funny?”
This makes me laugh even harder until I’m in stitches on the floor, by Nyam. Mio comes and sits on my other side and I’m wedged between some of the universe’s sexiest men.
“Well?” Arawn says in his toe-curling accent.
I tell them how much effort I put into primping myself up for them and they all give me tender looks.
“Lahela’iki, you are always the most beautiful woman in all the worlds to us,” Kane tells me.
“Not when she’s being a pain in the ass, though,” Uran interjects and his twin nods in agreement.
I stick my tongue out at them.
Illu grins wickedly, “Come here, kotyonok, I have something you can do with that tongue.”
Hot and cold shivers race up and down my arms.
“You can use your tongue on them while Sunny and I use our tongue on you,” Mio whispers hotly in my ear.
Fuck me, where do I sign up?
“Just one more question, Ms. Delsol,” Khal cuts in, ruining my fun as usual.
“Yes, Mr. Al-Zahil?” I say snootily.
“Can you generate a chart by hand?” he asks like a little smartass.
“Not on your life.”
“Hmm, that’s disappointing. Luckily, I’m not looking for that skill in this job.”
“Oh? And what exactly are you looking for?”
“Someone to bend over my desk.”
