Frosty

A year later....

“Baby, let me move that box,”

I say, taking the box from Ember.

“I can do it, Frosty. I’m pregnant, not helpless,”

Ember huffs, pushing a lock from her flushed face.

I place the box in the back of the van. I turn around, and my heart skips a beat. She looks so damn beautiful with the baby bump. The baby should be here soon.

I walk over to her, pull her into my arms, and rub her tummy. I gaze into her beautiful hazel eyes. She smiles at me, wrapping her arms around my neck.

“Yeah, don’t jump up,”

I snicker, shaking my head.

“Yeah, the baby is in the way, but you wait when he’s out; I’m climbing you,”

Ember pouts.

I kiss her and pull back, smiling.

“Baby girl, you can climb me all you want,”

I say, picking her up.

“Hell, yes! I love it,”

Ember smiles, rubbing her fingers through my hair.

I walk over to the picnic table that’s located next to the toy drive booth. I place Ember on the table, leaning down, and rest my forehead next to hers.

“Baby girl, we’re here a year later. I can still remember your sassy, fiery mouth telling me that you always get what you want. Fuck, you burned your way into my heart and seared my soul. I love you,”

I say, kissing her upturned nose.

“Yeah, you can’t say that I didn’t warn you. Now you’re going to be a daddy,”

Ember snickers, wrapping her arms around my neck.

“Baby girl, will you marry me,”

I say, holding onto her sweet ass.

“Oh, hell yes! It’s about fucking time!”

“Yeah, it’s time,”

I say, nodding.

I pull out the ring that I’ve been carrying around in my Cut’s pocket, waiting for the perfect time.

“Baby girl, I love you.”

“Frosty, I love you,”

Ember says, wiping her tears.
