The clubhouse is a flurry of activity.

Everyone is getting ready for the holidays, putting the tree up, and hanging Christmas lights across every open area they can find.

I draw the line at my office.

I’m anti-Christmas; I’ve never had a good Christmas, so as far as I’m concerned, it’s just another day.

Business as usual.

Being the club President, I have a lot on my plate, so frivolous holidays are just an inconvenience.

I can smell the scent of cinnamon wafting through my door.

While it isn’t unpleasant, I know it’s going to be a long season.

I can’t even imagine the various holiday smells that’ll be permeating the club..

The girls always go crazy baking cookies and pies.

Like, can’t you bake cookies all year long? Does it have to be for a fictitious fat man?

I knew Ezekial would hole up in his office.

He hates this time of year.

He’s never told me why, just grunts at any mention of it.

I’m pretty sure it has something to do with his fucked-up childhood.

I just want to hold him and take his pain away.

But Ezekial isn’t exactly the holding kind.

The only time he puts forth the effort to wrap his arms around me is when we’re intimate.

We never have stolen kisses or loving glances from across the room.

I know he cares about me, he’s just too damn stubborn to admit it.

My hope is that he’ll open his eyes one day, realize what he has, and make me his old lady.

It seems like a pipe dream, but it’s my dream.

Not that I’m treated badly as a croweater, hell, I’m the senior one here, so I make all the rules and chore charts for the other girls.

I’m respected, and most know I’m exclusive with Ezekial.

That doesn’t mean that the other men can’t proposition me, it just means for them, it makes more sense to offer themselves to someone else.

For them, it’s less hassle.

They don’t want problems with Ezekial.

I doubt he’d even mind, but I like the respect from the men.

Lord knows I like sex, and lucky for me, Ezekial is always up to the challenge.

Blue, my Vice President, and my two Enforcers, Dredge and Chaos, walk into my office to discuss our next job.

I shake my head when Chaos walks in with a Santa hat on.

I have no doubt that his old lady, Kiera, put him up to it.

He’s grinning from ear to ear.

Those two are like a sappy Christmas movie.

It kinda makes me gag a little.

When they finally settle down, I explain our next job.

Usually I describe what we’ll be doing when church is in session.

All patched in members attend church, and we talk business.

This job, however, needs to be handled delicately, with few ears.

We’re in the business of security.

Not like security for small kids or visiting businessmen.

It’s for criminals who want to keep a low profile.

We protect them from outside forces, and we’re paid handsomely for it.

Our legitimate businesses are our automatic car washes: Slippery When Wet.

We own five of them, and we also use them to launder our money we receive from the security jobs.

I explain the details of this assignment to the guys.

They don’t look happy because the job is going to last ten days and will run into Christmas day.

“I’ve researched this, and it’s good intel. I’ll give you all a week off after this job is over, but I’ve already committed to this. Anyone have a problem?”

I know I sound agitated, but that’s because I am. These are grown fucking men.

Just do the fucking work.

Everyone looks at me, but they wisely keep their mouths shut. I nod at them, then point to the door. They all leave, still angry.

Oh well. They’ll get over it.
