Deal
Giving a chin lift to the prospect holding the door of the MFMC Alabama Chapter’s clubhouse door open, I walk in. Stryker, Cannon and Nightmare are the only three in the main room.
“Damn quiet around here,”
I say as a greeting.
“Everyone but Tracer is out for a ride. He’s upstairs in his room,”
Nightmare informs me.
Cannon, the club’s VP, shakes his head.
“That brother is always doing some shit on his computers. And today we are damn thankful for it.”
“Is that the reason you texted to get my ass here asap?”
I direct the question to Stryker, but Nightmare answers.
“Yeah, after he cleaned up the picture of the woman watching the Georgia clubhouse, which is definitely tied to you, we just don’t have the why yet.”
I run a hand down my face.
“I told you I didn’t recognize her. So, not sure why she’d make inquiries about me. And regardless of what everyone thinks, I am particular about who I fuck. If that chick is over eighteen, it isn’t by much. She’s a knockout, I’ll give her that. I’ll even admit that when I enlarged the picture, the eyebrow piercing and the dozen or so piercings on her ears might have had me wondering for a split second if she had any anywhere else. Then I remembered I don’t do—”
“Twenty-six.”
I swing my head toward Nightmare. “What?”
“She’s twenty-six.”
“All right, so she’s legal. Doesn’t change the fact I don’t know her.”
I shrug, then it hits me.
“You found her.”
“Tracer did using facial recognition. Her name is Holiday Stark. Then he started a search for any information that could be found on her. She works as a computer geek for the FBI. She’s also in charge of a few other agencies’ computers. He has spent the last week learning everything he can about her. I mean, why would a computer geek with the FBI be trying to locate you?”
“Maybe they have been monitoring how much porn I watch.”
I raise both hands, palms up in the sign of who the hell knows to Stryker’s question.
“Let’s hope not.”
Cannon snorts.
“Between the two clubs, they’ll be trying to locate half of our brothers.”
“Not me. I have Lilly, and she is way better than the fake shit going on in porns.”
Nightmare shares one of his rare smiles and laughs when Cannon picks up the lamp on the table and acts as if he is going to launch it at him.
Stryker shakes his head at the two.
“We are getting off track. Tracer is putting a folder together on Ms. Stark. To include her address. Which Tracer found, in backtracking the footprints in our system that didn’t belong.”
“She hacked into our system?”
“Dude, not just ours,”
Tracer comments as he steps off the bottom stair.
Walking toward me, he holds out of folder. I open it and start flipping through.
“Are you kidding?”
I look up from the page.
“Nope.
She tiptoed through our system, then politely moved through and found our connection to the Georgia Chapter’s system.
I followed the trail, and she nosed around in their stuff for five minutes, then stepped right out.
She is fucking good.
I damn near missed the hack.
Probably wouldn’t have found it if she hadn’t tried to open our business files.
That file has triple password locking for security reasons.
If you screw up once, you don’t get another chance.
It locks you out.
The next time someone tries to get in, the master passwords have to be entered to reset.
Stryker, that is why I asked you to get them out of the safe in your office.
I was looking around to see what she had been doing and couldn’t get into the file.”
“Does Hardware know?”
Geez, this whole thing is turning into a clusterfuck.
“Oh yeah, and he is none too happy.”
Cannon looks over at Stryker.
“Of course he isn’t. You know he doesn’t like spending money, and it is going to cost a wad to upgrade our systems, so this doesn’t happen again.”
“Since Holiday Stark is looking for me. Maybe it’s time she finds me.”
“Wants some backup. She does work for the FBI.”
“On computers. She’s not an agent.”
I turn to leave and say over my shoulder.
“I’ll let you know what I find out.”
“Brother, if you get your ass kicked, you’ll never live it down.”
“What’s she going to do? Throw her mouse at me.”
I laugh as I walk out the door.
