"So now everyone is..."

In the end, everyone was demoted and left the private room feeling downcast.

Fan Rou followed behind everyone, and just as one foot stepped out the door, an arm stretched across: "What’s your name?"

"Major General, that’s my sister, Fan Rou," Fan Er didn’t want to deal with Fan Rou, but he couldn’t be too humiliating in front of others.

"Did I ask you?" Huo Yi gave him a cold glance, and Fan Er wisely shut his mouth.

Seeing Fan Er standing rigidly to the side, Huo Yi glanced at him slantingly: "Aren’t you going to scram? Need me to escort you out?"

"I need to take my sister home."

"Your sister? Just because you share a last name, is she your sister? I’ll make sure to take her home once I have asked clearly; or do you think I have my sights on her?"

Huo Yi made these piercing remarks with an utterly earnest expression, prompting Fan Er to think for a moment before ultimately abandoning Fan Rou and leaving.

After all, it wouldn’t be a loss for Fan Rou to actually go with Huo Yi; there was nothing for him to worry about.

Even though she already knew the outcome, seeing Fan Er leave without looking back still somewhat unsettled Fan Rou.

Huo Yi stepped into the room: "Come in."

He turned on all the lights, instantly dissipating the once dim and ambiguous atmosphere.

Then he called the waiter to clear the table.

Fan Rou’s eyes were filled with confusion until he threw the menu at her, prompting her to ask, "What do you mean by this?"

"You probably haven’t eaten much in this kind of situation, right? Order whatever you’d like."

The confusion in Fan Rou’s eyes deepened: "You kept me here just to treat me to a meal?"

Seeing her expression, Huo Yi knew that Ye Ranran hadn’t told her.

This person really is one to do good deeds without seeking recognition.

"I’m Huo Yi, Ye Ranran’s older brother."

Fan Rou had a sudden realization; she knew he looked familiar but couldn’t recall where she had seen him before.

She had seen him at the hospital before.

"Ranran sent you?" Fan Rou instantly understood.

Huo Yi gave her a look that wasn’t too dim-witted.

Fan Rou’s heart was touched and also resigned; this man really had everything arranged perfectly.

"What else did she tell you?"

"She asked me to pursue you, to make your life better," Huo Yi didn’t hide it from her.

Ye Ranran didn’t want her to know what she had been doing behind her back, but he wanted her to know that there was someone in this world who was so good to her.

"You agreed?"

Huo Yi nodded: "Yes, but it’s just role-playing."

"Thank you." She was happy that he was willing to come and help her out of a tough spot.

With things clarified, Fan Rou let herself go and ate, while Huo Yi, with graceful movements, finished his meal swiftly.

The two didn’t have much in common, weren’t familiar with each other, and had nothing to talk about; oh, and neither had any intention of initiating conversation, naturally making it impossible to have one.

After eating their fill and paying the bill, they left. Once outside, Huo Yi looked down: "Is there anywhere else you want to go?"

Fan Rou wrapped her coat tighter around herself, to keep it closer to her body: "No, I want to go back."

Huo Yi, with the manners of a gentleman, escorted her home. As the car stopped in front of the Fan Family home, Fan Mei happened to get out of another car.

Seeing the Hummer next to her, she didn’t go back in immediately but stopped beside it instead.

"Wait a moment before you get out," Huo Yi unbuckled his seatbelt.

Fan Rou didn’t know what he was planning, but obediently stayed put.

Huo Yi walked over to the other side and personally opened the car door for Fan Rou.

When Fan Mei saw who was coming from the inside, she widened her eyes: "Fan Rou, you..."
