Sienna
“ S ienna…” he murmurs, his green eyes burning into mine as he slides his fingers down my hips, skimming along my skin before he slips them beneath the fabric of my top and slowly slides it up. “Want me?”
“Gods…” My entire body is on fire, my core igniting with a delicious lick of illicit hunger.
A dangerous smirk crosses his lips as he brushes his hand down my stomach and slips his fingers between my thighs, making my core clench.
“Jayce…” I whimper, my eyes falling to his towel and the bulge of his package.
I want him.
I reach for his towel when he starts banging on the wall behind me.
I look up at him, confused.
“Jayce, what are you-”
My eyes snap open, and I’m staring at the white ceiling of my dorm room, where someone is banging on the door. THE DOOR to my dorm room!
I gasp as I look down and realise what happened.
I was dreaming about Jayce. I was… my cheeks flush at the ache that lingers in my core.
“WHAT?!” I scream at the incessant knocking.
“Sienna?” Tatum’s voice comes, laced with shock.
Shit!
“Sorry! I was asleep, I’m- I’m coming!” Jayce’s face flashes in my head, and I want to die. ‘I’m coming?’ Really?
Oh my gods, I was thinking about him! I was dreaming about him touching me!
I jump from the bed, grab one of my perfumes and spray the room until the smell is in my nose and mouth, and I’m gagging.
“Sienna, are you alright?”
“Yes!” I exclaim, trying to hide my panic.
I quickly grab some wipes and hurriedly wipe my vagina, not wanting anything linked to sex lingering on me. That is an embarrassment I’ll never recover from. Pushing open the windows, I then rush to the door and poke my head out, trying to calm my erratic heartbeat.
“Tatum, hey!”
His arched eyebrow is a question in itself, but he doesn’t ask me anything. Not about me shouting, or why there’s perfume overload or anything. Thank the gods.
“I heard what happened last night. Are you alright?”
“How did you hear?” I ask, my face falling. Does that mean everyone knows?
“Word gets around. Are you alright though?”
“Yeah… yeah, I am. I just- I wasn’t expecting everyone to know…” I murmur, the humiliation creeping through me once again.
“You don’t need to worry, I already let Jayce know.”
“Let him know what?” I ask quickly, too quickly, and it sounds like a shout.
Tatum frowns slightly and then touches my forehead. “Are you sure you’re ok?”
“Yeah, I am. What did you let Jayce know?” I repeat. If Tatum said something and I already messed things up, he’ll think I’m being fussed over, and I can’t blame him. I was a danger to everyone. “I messed up last night, and he got hurt because of me.”
“Relax. I only told him that someone from your division spread the news; he wasn’t impressed.”
“I don’t think he cares,” I mutter.
Tatum frowns, observing me. “Jayce may come off as stand-offish, Si, but he is fair.”
“Fair… I don’t think so,” I reply glumly.
Tatum ruffles my hair. “Ok, Little Miss Woe Is Me, go change. And you need to move your things over to Ninth Division. Today’s the day you need to move, and you haven’t even taken anything over.”
I sigh. “Yeah, I know.”
“Listen to him, he’ll help you.” I don’t need to ask who he means. He gives me a small pat on the head before walking away, and I re-enter my room, shutting the door behind me.
Well, I guess I’d better get packing.
“So, how did last night go?” Heaven asks as we make our way, carrying my stuff to Ninth Division. Well, partially carrying as Heaven is using a spell to move most of the stuff. We earn a few looks as we cross the halls, but one cold glare from her, and everyone averts their gaze.
“Nothing worth mentioning; he just said I have to train,” I say, making a long story short.
“That I have to train with him…” My cheeks heat up as the dream returns to the front of my mind, and I look up to see both girls staring at me.
Allie’s gaze is like an X-ray, looking right through me, whilst Heaven’s is calculating, like she’s studying me under a microscope.
“So, it worked,” Allie states, shrugging.
“What worked?” I ask. “It didn’t work! He hates me.”
“Ok, Si, can we drop the word hate? Hate is a strong word. He doesn’t hate you.” Heaven snaps, and I blink and pout.
“Excuse me?” I say, shocked at her tone.
“I’m sorry, but really, he doesn’t hate you; I don’t think he does. I actually think he has a thing for you. I even said that to Allie last night!”
Allie nods, and I look at them incredulously, but it only takes a moment for me to realise that.
This time, I burst out laughing, and I mean really laughing. I clutch my waist as my tummy starts hurting from all the laughing. Allie and Heaven stare at me, both wearing unimpressed expressions on their faces.
“What’s so funny?” Heaven frowns.
“Yeah, right, THE Jayce Westwood has a thing for me?” I say quietly, trying to stop from laughing more. “That’s a good joke. Guys like him don’t choose girls like me,” I say. My amusement vanishes, and Allie rolls her eyes.
“I hate men, and I hate women, and I hate romance, and hormones, and chemistry and attraction. I hate people.” She turns and begins walking faster down the hall.
I cock a brow, but Heaven simply shakes her head. “Wake up, Si! This is not you.”
It stings a little as she turns and begins walking, too, although it’s at a much more normal pace.
I’m even annoying them now that they’re here…
By the time we reach Ninth Division’s dorms, Allie’s waiting there with her arms crossed. I walk over and touch my Schattensicht to the scanner before scanning my hand. No one can just enter; the Schattensicht can only be used to unlock this door if my brain activity is in line with the command.
The door slides open, and I step into a small hall where all the walls are a black marble effect.
We cross it and enter the main room, which is the shared living space, and it definitely looks lived in.
It’s clean, but there are signs of it being used; a plate, a book, a few cups and cans are spread across the room.
There’s a curved sofa in front of the TV, a few gaming machines set up to the left with a few armchairs around a table. Then there’s a corner with another two armchairs and a bean bag and behind it are shelves.
They are laden with study books, but I can also spot a few fiction ones, no doubt all borrowed from the library.
There are two more arches leading off from the main room, and I can see there are more doors.
To the right, there’s a small kitchen area, which holds three different drink-making machines.
Valerian, Brock, Himari, Bruce, and Ian are here.
The colours of the room are blacks, browns, and beiges – pleasant and warm enough, even the ambient lights that line the dark ceiling contribute to that vibe.
“Sienna Rossi. You finally decided to join us,” Bruce says, grinning. “I’ll help you get that stuff in. Neat trick there.”
“Thank you,” Heaven replies.
“Thanks. Umm, which one is my room?” I ask, not missing the anger and irritation on Himari’s face, but shockingly, she doesn’t say anything. I’m not sure if it’s because the girls are with me or what, but I don’t trust her.
Bruce’s grin falters, and he looks at Brock. “Well… we’re waiting on Jayce to finalise that,” he mutters.
“Do you guys want to just leave the stuff here and-” Brock is cut off when I hear shouting coming from one of the rooms.
I glance at Allie, wondering if she can hear what’s been said. With her hearing, I’m sure she can, but she doesn’t let on, even if she can.
“Can you not be so selfish?!”
Is that Artemis?
I hear a door open and feel Jayce’s aura rush through the rooms.
“I told you it was temporary until the new members joined.” That cutting voice is Jayce’s.
“Then you give up your room! Share with Valerian and Renji!”
An arrogant scoff follows. “Remember who you’re speaking to, Artemis. Get your shit in line, or I will make sure one of you is removed from this division, and it won’t be Brock.” His voice is cold and venomous, and I see Brock turn his head slightly.
“You are a jerk, Jayce!” Artemis exclaims, rushing out of the room. I see her cross the hall, and then a door bangs.
What is going on?
“So, I’ll fill you in,” Himari sneers. “We had a spare room until you and Shahira showed up. Well, Jayce allowed Brock and Artemis to bunk together because they’re dating, but since you two are here, he wants you two to share.
Although Artemis ain’t wrong, he could make you two bunk with Maralai or something, like who cares. ”
“Her room is smaller than yours and Allison’s,” Bruce points out.
Oh no… Artemis was nice, I don’t want to be in her bad books either. I’m stepping on toes here, too.
“Jayce isn’t wrong; there are rules in place for a reason. His mistake was letting them even spend a few days together,” Allie says, her voice cold as Jayce appears.
He looks gorgeous in a fitted shirt and jeans. Gods is he sexy… My cheeks heat up at the dream I had last night. I see his jaw flex as he looks at Allie.
“I didn’t ask for your input,” he remarks.
“It’s free, take it,” she counters, looking at her cousin.
I look between them. “I’m ok sharing with someone if it’s going to cause-”
“ I decide where you sleep,” Jayce cuts in, his eyes now flicking to me.
Got it.
“I just meant…” I trail off as his unblinking glare remains on me.
“And you don’t want to give up the perk of being division leader, I mean, you get your own room, why not give it to the couple?” Valerian remarks, leaning back in his seat.
“And why should I do that? I am the division leader, the room’s mine,” Jayce replies challengingly as he stares Valerian down, his Alpha aura surges, and so does Valerian’s. So intense. They are both powerful, but the latter has nothing on Jayce’s.
Brock stands up. “It’s fine, thanks for the couple of days you let us have our own room. I’ll talk to her.”
“I hope that isn’t the room Sienna will be sleeping in because that bed would need to be burned,” Allie says, her voice low and dark, as if just the thought was a crime.
“None of your business.” Jayce frowns.
Heaven smiles slightly, and I feel my cheeks heat up knowing exactly what she means.
“So, you’re Alessandra Rossi, right?” Ian says, looking at Allie.
She simply casts him a deadpan glance before she turns to Jayce. “We’ll switch out the mattress then. Sienna is not sleeping on that.”
He ignores her and looks at me. “Brock will get the room cleared out in the next twenty minutes.” With that, he turns and re-enters the room he had come out of, slamming the door behind him.
This is sure going to be fun.
“Sorry, with all the shit going on, everything got delayed. But come on, sit down, all of you,” Bruce says. “Tea? Coffee? Hot Chocolate?”
“No, thank you,” Heaven declines the offer. “We have lessons, and with the deadlines of moving today, we just thought we’d help drop Sienna’s stuff off. Maybe next time.”
“Yeah,” Allie says as she looks at me, about to walk right past me, when she leans in. “Make sure they change the mattress.”
I watch as they both leave, suddenly feeling alone again.
“Is Shahira here?” I ask.
“She dropped a few bags off about ten minutes ago, and then all of that shit show went down, and she left and didn’t return,” Ian responds, scratching his chin. Something tells me he loves drama.
Oh… hopefully that means she’ll be back soon.
Artemis and Brock return after a short while, and Artemis doesn’t look as angry as before. In fact, her bruised lips hint that Brock cheered her up in just the right way.
“Hey, sorry you had to hear all that,” she says apologetically. “I just don’t get why Jayce couldn’t share, but I’m not complaining anymore. Welcome.”
“Thank you…” I say, feeling awkward after seeing that.
“The room is clean; we didn’t really take much there. I’ve stripped the bedding.” Artemis smiles at me. “Can you guys get up and help take her stuff in, and what Shahira dropped off? Where’s Renji?”
“Being a helpful prick,” Ian snickers.
“We’ve been blessed or cursed with two Westwoods, depending on how you look at it. And when I say they’re worlds apart, I mean it,” Bruce adds.
“You know she knows them, right?” Artemis says. “She’s a Rossi.”
“Sorry, I forget that with how she acts,” Bruce says apologetically, although the smirk on his face says he still finds it amusing.
“It’s fine, excuse me.” I head towards the room where Brock is already taking things inside. Like Artemis said, it’s clean.
It’s slightly bigger than the room I was sharing with Anna, but what I like the most is the partition that hides the bed areas from one another.
“You unpack, I’ll have everything brought in,” Brock says, giving me a small smile.
“Thanks.” I offer him a small smile back as I get to work. This is where I’ll be staying for the next few years… I look around, taking in the beige walls, the black floors, and the sharp-edged design of the bed and furniture.
Last night’s events return, and I sigh softly. Himari didn’t say anything, even though she looked annoyed to see me.
An hour later, I’m pretty much unpacked, although there’s a lot to put into place. Our room is right beside Jayce’s.
Shahira’s back as well; currently she’s organising her side. We work in pleasant silence, occasionally exchanging a word or two, but mostly my ears are on the room outside.
I can hear them talking, and I had left the door open a tiny crack, just so I could get the feel of those around me by listening to them.
Those who have been newly put into divisions are allowed the morning off to settle in, but the rest have some lessons, even if it is the weekend.
It’s now quiet out there; the sound of Lucius’ fish tank’s hum is the loudest sound coming from out there.
“It’s really quiet, isn’t it?” Shahira whispers from where she’s hanging up her clothes in her wardrobe.
“Yeah, I like it though,” I reply.
She laughs lightly. “I love the quiet, too.”
We hear a door slam, and then the sound of two pairs of feet.
“He meant that?” Himari whispers.
“Yes! He was so pissed off! We’d better not spread anything out there. He made that crystal clear that personal matters from within the division stay here,” Allison hisses.
So, he did do something after Tatum told him.
“Fuck,”
“And look, I don’t want to make matters worse. We fucked again last night, and Goddess was it good.”
My blood runs cold, and I feel my skin prickle as I stare at the box in my hand.
Fucked.
So, he’s perfectly fine, that’s for sure if he was able to fuck. He must be healed.
My heart is thundering loudly, and I try my best to calm down, but it’s proving difficult.
He fucked her of all people!
And I know it shouldn’t bother me, but it sure as hell does.
Now it makes sense why he couldn’t give up his room for Artemis and Brock.
