She returns mere seconds later with a steaming cup of coffee, and I accept it gratefully. The first sip is like heaven, and I have to concentrate on keeping my eyes open so Gina can finish her work. “This is good. Thanks, babe.”

With makeup and breakfast out of the way, we head down to the filming location for the day. I look around, and there is a plethora of crew around. The scene today must be bigger than I thought. Tait is sitting in his chair, playing on his phone, and I see his PA talking with Elena. I turn to Quinn, and she is on her phone as well. Looks like she is texting someone.

“Hey, who ya texting?”

“Steve and I are discussing all the events you have coming up over the next month. You have a red carpet premiere next Monday, and you agreed to appear at a comic convention in Denver the weekend after that.”

I groan. I forgot about both of those. “Do I have to?” I realize, as the words leave my mouth, I sound like a whiny baby, and I’m sure she’s going to call me out on it.

She rolls her eyes. “We all do things we don’t want to do, so yes. Suck it up and do what you’re getting paid lots of money to do. I also want access to all your social media. I’m going to handle that while you’re busy.”

How’d I guess the eye roll was coming?I have a strong urge to get my hands on her. I smile and lean closer so only she can hear. “Keep rolling your eyes at me, sweetheart, and I’ll make sure I get them to roll back like yesterday.” A tiny whimper leaves her lips before she schools her features again. That’s right, beautiful, I want to make you a moaning, panting mess.“Come to my room tonight.”

She opens her mouth to respond, but Joe Daley, the director, approaches us. “All right, Caleb, we need you to get into position. We’re going to run through the fight scene once, to make sure we have the camera angles ready to go, and then we’ll do it for real. Don’t put too much effort into the first one; save it for when we’re rolling.”

I turn and wink at Quinn. “Hold that thought. I’ve got to go to work.” I walk on to set, hit my mark, and watch Tait stroll over from his chair. I mumble some sort of pleasantry and wait for the cue to begin the scene. When I glance over at Quinn, she has moved to stand with Sam, the two of them engrossed in a quiet conversation away from the cameras and the boom mic. I see her smiling, seemingly enjoying herself.

“Hey, Romeo, get your head in the game. We don’t want a repeat of the last time we did this sequence,” Tait muses.

As I hold back the impending growl that wants to escape, we begin the fight. It's not extremely long, but there are enough moves and lines that I’m a bit out of breath by the time it’s done. We’re given a small reprieve and I walk over to Quinn and Sam, Tait hot on my heels.

“Sam, can you get me a bottle of water?” Tait asks as he pulls Quinn in for a side hug. I watch his PA lower her eyes to the ground and scurry away.Yeah, I wouldn’t want to look at him either.Quinn smacks him in the chest. He rubs the spot and chuckles. I pull Quinn away from his grasp and wrap my hands around her waist, resting my chin on the top of her head.

“Sam was telling me about how this is her first PA gig,” Quinn starts. “Be nice to her, Tait. I don’t want to have to fix your image as well.”

Tait smirks and feigns shock. “I’m never anything but nice to the ladies. You should know that by now, Quinn.”

Quinn twists in my arms to face me and plants a small kiss on my lips. That’s right, let him know you’re with me.“I’ve got to get some work done. I was going to have Sam show me to your trailer. I’ll see you around lunchtime?”

I don’t want her to leave, and I fight with myself to let her go. Finally, I nod my head and release my grip on her. “If you need anything, let Giselle know and she’ll get it for you.”

She pulls me closer and whispers, “You’d better play nice. I’ll know if you don’t.” She turns to Sam, who has returned. “Sam, can you please show me to Caleb’s trailer?”

She nods and looks over at Tait. “I’ll be back in a few minutes, Tait.”

He waves his hand dismissively, and I think I see Quinn scowl in his direction.God, this man makes me want to punch him—again.I’ve never met a man who treats women the way he does. He treats them like shit, and one day, it’s going to bite him in the ass. We’re called back to our starting positions and run through the sequence again. This time, the cameras are rolling, and I put on the performance of a lifetime.

Chapter 29

For the restof the morning, I stay tucked away on Caleb’s personal trailer working on taking over his social media and promoting the upcoming events. Instagram is a great way to get fans excited for the Denver Convention, and I post a secret shot I took of Caleb getting his makeup and hair done with the caption‘On set now, but I’ll be with you in Denver in two weeks. So excited to meet you all’.I share this on Twitter and watch as comments flood his screen and the number of likes shoots up like crazy. The fans love when they feel they are wanted, and this is one of the easiest ways to promote the hype.

I read a few of the comments.

@therealcalebe I can’t wait to meet you in a few weeks. I love you!

@therealcalebe You’re so hot. Not sure why you’re with that fat girl.

@therealcalebe I think you and Quinn are so cute. When can we see more pictures of the two of you?

Pictures of the two of us on social media isn’t a horrible idea, but I also don’t want to put too much out there. The more that’s out there, the harder my life is going to be when the farce gets uncloaked. The last thing I want is a bunch of teenage girls beating me to a pulp via social media because I hurt the one man they are destined to be with. These girls need to get a life!I look at the clock on my laptop and figure Caleb should be back soon. After setting my laptop on the coffee table, I give a big stretch, arching my back, and release the tension from my shoulders and neck.

A low whistle sounds, and I look at the door. Caleb is standing there, watching me intently.

“I need to put a bell on you so I know where you are,” I tease.

“Come on, I’ve been told to get you for lunch. Elena is already there and impatiently waiting for you.” He runs his hand down his jaw and smirks. “She was going to come herself to get you, but I wouldn’t let her.”

“I can only imagine how that conversation went.” I laugh and move closer to him.
