“I’m a born and raised southern Cali girl. Don’t knock my home team. Who do you like? The Diamondbacks?” I make a gagging noise and he laughs.

“Hell no, I’m a Red Sox man. My mom loves them and passed her love of the team off to me. I’d like to be able to take you to Fenway Park sometime and bring you to a game. It’s a ton of fun there.”

I smile. “I’d love that. I’ve never been out that way, and I’ve heard Boston is a beautiful city.”

“It’s a date. Let’s get through this movie, and I’ll take you back home with me.”

The thought of being with him longer than just through filming makes my heart skip a beat. The more time I spend with this man, the more I’m not going to want to let him go. My brain is telling me not to sink any deeper, but my heart is telling my brain to take a hike. He helps me into the back of the car, and we are on our way to the filming location for the day.

As soon as the car pulls up, there are people jumping to get to him. It must be because he ran off so quickly yesterday to get to me. The thought makes me blush, and I exit the vehicle right behind him. He reaches for my hand so I don’t get lost and directs me to his trailer. He has several people all talking to him at once, but he ignores them all. Finally, someone gets annoyed enough with him and calls him out.

“Caleb, what the hell, man? Are you even listening?”

He smiles at me and turns to the person. “Yes, I heard you just fine. We’re changing around the fight sequence today because the conditions aren’t as good as yesterday. I need to get into makeup ASAP, and this is a closed set. However, Quinn here has an invite from the studio and is allowed to be here. She is my publicist, and the studio wants her here as my babysitter.” He turns and winks at me. “She’s also my girlfriend.”

The man rolls his eyes, clearly annoyed with the situation. “Whatever, man, just go get into makeup. We’ve got a lot of work to go today. Tait is already warming up for the fight scene.” He walks away and Caleb chuckles.

“Gotta keep these guys on their toes. I’m going to head over to the makeup trailer. Want to come?”

“Actually, I’d like to see some of the set. Think someone can show me around before filming starts?”

“I’m sure we can arrange that.” A girl approaches with a few coffees in her hand, and he stops her so suddenly that small amounts of the coffee seep over the lip of the cup. “Hi there, who’s PA are you again?”

“Good morning, Mr. Evanstan. I’m Tait’s personal assistant, Sam. Is there something I can help you with?” she asks, nervousness lacing her voice.

“Sam, this is my girlfriend, Quinn. I presume you are heading out to see Tait?” She nods, her big eyes staring at him. “Can you take her with you? She wants to see some of the set, and I have no idea where my PA is.”

“Giselle is over at the makeup trailer, bringing breakfast by for you.”

As soon as Sam says the wordbreakfast, my stomach decides to growl. I’ve been up for a while and haven’t eaten yet. I’m in dire need of food.

He looks at my stomach and back up at me. “Maybe you should hold off on exploring and have breakfast with me first. What do you say?” Caleb asks, his dark eyes hopeful.

“Yeah, guess that sounds good.” I turn to look at Sam. “It’s nice meeting you. I’m sure we will be talking a lot soon.”

“Nice meeting you, too.” When she walks off, Caleb takes my hand, pulling me with him toward the trailer. There better be coffee and food there. I’m starving.

Chapter 28

I pull Quinn with me,thankful she didn’t go visit Tait. I know they’re friends, but it doesn’t change the fact that I don’t want her hanging around him. If I’m being honest, I don’t even want to be here today. If I had my way, I’d keep Quinn prisoner in my room, inhaling her sweet vanilla scent and making her come over and over. However, I know I have a job to do, and with me running out yesterday, I need to make it up to the crew.

We reach the makeup trailer, and I pull her up the steps with me, Gina already waiting impatiently for me. “Caleb, weren’t you supposed to be here thirty minutes ago?” she asks, throwing some crumpled paper in my direction.

“Sorry, Gina, didn’t want to wake this one up too early. She likes her sleep.” I turn and face Quinn, a small scowl present on her face. “Gina, this is my girlfriend, Quinn. Quinn, this is my makeup girl, Gina,” I introduce.

Quinn reaches her hand out to her. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Gina accepts her outstretched hand and smiles kindly. “Likewise. I feel bad for you though, having to put with the likes of him.” She tilts her head in my direction and drops Quinn’s hand, both girls smiling.

“It’s not so bad once he’s trained,” Quinn retorts.

“Well, maybe you can teach me this technique, and I can put it to good use with the others. There’s food and coffee over there. Please help yourself.” She turns her attention back to me. “You, Caleb, are going to sit your ass down and let me get you ready for the day. I’m sure Quinn here will be more than happy to get you sustenance.”

I look at Quinn who nods, walking toward the small table with food. I sit, and Gina gets to work right away. My focus is stuck facing the mirror, but I can hear Quinn making small moans of approval as she sips coffee and takes small bites of her muffin. Watching her reflection in the mirror is just not the same. She walks closer with a small plate of food in her hand, passing it off to me.

“How do you like your coffee?”

“Black with one sugar.”
