“Is it supposed to be this strong?” Velda asked.

“I’ve never dealt with an omega in heat before,” I confessed. “From what I’ve gleaned in talking to ones over the years, their conscious brains basically shut down until their bodies produce enough hormones to restart it all, and the only way they produce that is being cared for.”

“Obviously. That’s part of the being cared for.”

The elevator ride down was the longest of my life.

I shook my head. If there was anything, we would probably find that out when we needed it. “How are you so calm right now?”
