Page 33 of The Nymph Prince
“I’ve noticed your accent becomes thicker when you’re taken with emotion,” Lorcan said with a fascinated gleam in his eyes. Still evading the question. “You hide it well most of the time, I assure you, but when you’re angry… or jealous… your words have such a gorgeous lilt to them. I find it endearing.”
“Know what I find endearing?”
His lips curved even more.
“You answering my damn question.”
Lorcan laughed, and the musical quality of it instantly took away my annoyance. He was honestly too precious for this world. Too magnificent.
“I don’t have any lovers,” he finally answered before lifting his goblet and taking a drink of wine. “In the past, I’ve had several, of course. Being a prince has its perks. But no current ones.” With a side-eyed glance, he then added, “I was hoping you’d like to change that.”
He didn’t need to ask me twice.
I leaned in to where we shared the same pocket of air and caressed a finger along his soft cheek. The scent of the sea tickled my nose and as I leaned in closer to him, the aroma of roses lingered on his creamy skin. An odd combination, but it fit him.
“Is that a yes?” he asked, and I didn’t miss the swallow in his throat, as if he were nervous. Or just as taken with lust as I was. His green-eyed gaze flickered from my eyes, to my lips, and back up again.
“Aye.”
Malik stepped forward. “Shall I escort you to your chamber, my prince?”
Without taking his eyes off me, Lorcan answered, “Yes.”
A thrill went through me. The animalistic hunger in the nymph’s eyes made it clear that I was about to be pleased in ways I never had before.
When Lorcan stood from the table, the party stopped just like it’d had with the king. Yet, something seemed different as the people regarded their prince. They’d respectfully bowed their heads to King Triton, but there was adoration on their faces as they bowed to Lorcan.
They respected the king, but they loved his son. And that kind of admiration couldn’t be bought or forced upon them.
Lorcan’s gaze shifted amongst them as he raised his hand in a farewell and then he bowed his head, too. As he walked toward the door his father had left from, I followed him. Malik and Reif took position behind me. The people, however, continued facing Lorcan, their heads slightly bent.
And the nymph seemed oblivious to it all.
He must think very little of himself.
The walk down the corridor and up a set of stairs was winding and narrow, but when we exited from a small door near Lorcan’s chamber, I realized the passage had saved us quite a bit of time.
Reaching his door, Lorcan turned to Malik. “Will you tell Dathan to bring my special oil?”
His smirk was all too telling of what hisspecial oilwas. My cock ached at the thought, as did my ass. I didn’t know which way Lorcan preferred to fuck, but I enjoyed both ways.
“Yes, my prince,” Malik responded with a curt nod. He straightened his stance and there was humor in his orange eyes. “Remember I’ll be outside your door.”
“Oh? I’ll be sure to scream extra loud then,” Lorcan retorted.
He was such a pompous ass. I loved it.
Reif took position on the other side of the door, not saying a word. He had a permanent scowl on his scarred face. Malik looked at him, and a silent request was exchanged before Malik turned and left. Probably to find Dathan, Lorcan’s manservant.
We slipped inside his chamber.
“Give me a moment,” he said as he disappeared into the washing room.
I looked around in silent awe. One of the four walls was glass, showing the sea on the other side and creating a blue hue that glimmered off everything inside the room. His large bed sat in the center of the room with silky blue sheets and fluffy pillows. A writing desk sat against the other wall, surrounded by shelves overflowing with books.
Two light knocks sounded on the door before a pleasant voice said, “Your Highness? I have your oil as requested.”
Lorcan was still inside the washroom and called out, “Alek, will you answer the door?”
