Page 108 of The Nymph Prince
“You can try, young prince,” Malik countered, bowing his head.
The nymph rolled his eyes before grabbing the cloth and wiping his face.
My gaze roamed his body, and I grew hot upon seeing the way the muscles of his bare torso moved beneath his skin as he bent to grab his tunic. His eyes flashed to mine and his lips held a knowing smile.
“I brought you a treat,” I said, holding out the blueberry tartlet.
His face lit-up and he took it from my hand before shoving the whole thing in his mouth. He looked like a chipmunk as he chewed with his rounded cheeks and crumbs at the corners of his lips.
Only Lorcan could appear devastatingly handsome one moment and adorable the next. The way his elf-like ears poked out from his pale hair made him even more endearing.
Reif and Malik conversed about the army; when they were setting out for campaign to Black Hallows and how long they thought the journey would take. I didn’t wish to discuss battle. Or even think of it.
“Can we go somewhere private?” I asked, placing my hand at the small of the nymph’s back and closing the gap between our bodies. Jam from the tart lingered at the edge of his mouth, and I leaned in to lick it off.
Lorcan’s lips parted as he stared up at me, and his breaths quickened.
The sizzling connection between us was strong. We both felt it; the need to be closer than we were. To join as one, body and soul. I saw it in his eyes just as I was sure he saw it in mine.
“The palace seems much too far,” Lorcan whispered before nibbling at my chin. “I need you now, mage.”
As his purrs reached my ears, my cock filled. Gods, it seemed like an eternity since I’d last been buried in his heat. I craved the closeness with him, craved the sounds that’d leave his sweet, sinful lips as I took him slow and hard.
“I’d gladly take you right here,” I told him, smoothing my hands up his spine. “But I feel as though the guards would have much to say about that.”
Lorcan looked over at Malik and Reif before returning his gaze to me. His impish smile had my interest piqued.
“Follow me,” he whispered before his playful grin widened. “And run fast.”
As I was in the midst of processing his words, he turned and ran. I snapped to attention and took off after him so fast that my feet skid in the dirt. After regaining my balance, I followed close behind him.
Malik roared his protest, and Lorcan laughed.
“Faster, mage! Don’t let him catch us!”
“You’re insane!” I responded as we reached the edge of the field and kept going.
We entered the forest, moving past all the colorful trees and glowing plants. I hadn’t explored that area yet, so I knew not where he was taking us. I didn’t care. Just like earlier, the run was adrenaline-charged and freeing. Having Lorcan with me only added to that feeling.
Lorcan quickly looked over his shoulder, and his eyes grew large. “Incoming!”
The steps behind me sent me into a faster sprint. Air whizzed at my back, as if Malik had reached to grab me and missed. There was no way we’d outrun Malik. But it was fun trying.
“Prince Lorcan!” Malik growled, sounding as if he was only three feet or so behind me. “Stop running. This is not the time for games!”
“It’salwaystime for games,” the nymph countered.
He jumped over a log, and seconds later, I did the same.
I enjoyed this side of Lorcan. He could be so serious when faced with his royal duties or when speaking of war. His face would turn down, his brow would furrow, and even though he wasn’t even a man of twenty yet, he had to behave much older. Seeing him carefree and uninhibited was a nice change.
When he came to a sudden stop in front of me, I couldn’t break in time and slammed into his back. We fell and rolled down a small hill, our bodies twisting together as we went. I grunted as his head collided with mine.
At the bottom of the hill, after we’d stopped rolling, Lorcan started laughing. Hard.
I rubbed my sore head and peered at him. His eyes watered as he continued to laugh, and soon, I couldn’t suppress my amusement and joined him.
Malik approached us, being mindful of his steps, and the annoyance on his face made me snort another laugh. Lorcan and I made no moves to stand. Grass was stuck in the nymph’s hair and his white tunic was dirty. I doubted I looked much better.
