“You may not be interested in the ins and outs of the way our fathers used to do business, but I am.”

Fletcher groaned, resigned. “We wanted things to be different.”

“And they are,” I confirmed. “They will be, but it can’t just evaporate.”

The threads of the favors and the lies and the manipulation of our families was too tangled and knotted to simply untangle. Cutting the mess off would bring chaos, which I knew none of us truly wanted. Fletcher, with all those boyfriends lying around, would want his men as protected as possible, so he would have to take some sort of action in response to my demands.

“And you might as well include Daren and Luca,” I said. “Their families are not free and clear.”

“Their fathers are still alive,” he said.

“Their fathers are loyal to you now.”

Fletcher sighed. “And in debt to you.”

“Right.”

“Sometimes, Vince…sometimes I want to pack it all up and move to another country.”

I chuckled, closing my eyes.

There were two sets of footsteps coming up the stairs.

“It’s appealing,” I agreed.

“We can get dinner sometime this week,” he suggested. “You can come over, and for dessert you can watch again.”

A smile quirked at the corner of my mouth. “Did you enjoy that?”

“Not as much as you, I don’t think.”

Knuckles rapped against the doorframe, and I opened my eyes to find Orion filling the space with Jacob half a step behind him.

“I did enjoy it,” I said gently. “It served two purposes, that’s for certain.”

“Two?”

“I’ll call you tomorrow, Fletcher,” I told him, spinning my chair away from the desk. “I have an urgent matter that needs my attention.”

Chapter 24

Orion

Vince was naked.

Naked and wet from a shower, sitting in that oversized leather chair with his legs spread and his cock and balls heavy against his thigh.

Behind me, Jacob gasped. He tripped over his own feet, stumbled to a stop against my back. Without much thought, I extended my right arm to stop him from falling forward into the office and got myself a handful of his very muscular thigh.

“Good job, pet,” Vince said.

To me.

I swallowed and took my hand away.

Vince’s stare shifted from me to Jacob, his eyes narrowing before returning to their normal state.

“This is the first time I’ve seen you in proper lighting I think,” he said. “The church is so shadowy. Don’t you agree? A goodplace for secrets.”
