“You deserve better than that, Ethan.”
“Maybe that’s true, but you’re the only woman who’s made me feel this way. What I feel when I make all my pieces…is how I feel every time I look at you.”
It was like a punch to the stomach.
“Yes, I deserve better, but I’d be willing to be patient with you.”
Now that punch turned into a knife. “Ethan, I’m sorry—”
“Hey, baby.” Aurelias appeared out of nowhere, standing directly beside us, the tallest, hottest, sexiest guy in the room by a long shot. His hand immediately moved into my hair, and he leaned down and kissed me.
It all happened so fast, I didn’t react.
Aurelias looked at Ethan, a silent showdown happening with his cold gaze.
Ethan stared back, his features hard and impossible to decipher.
I wished I were somewhere far, far away.
Ethan finally stood up. “Hope you find what you’re looking for, Harlow.” He walked out of the bar and stepped into the night. The door swung closed behind him.
Aurelias took his vacated seat, tapped his fingers on the bar and was immediately served. Instead of getting a beer, he got scotch because their inventory had been restocked. As if nothing had happened, he just sat there, his elbow on the counter, his fingers against the scruff of his hard jawline.
“That was a dick move.”
He took a drink before he looked at me. “I just did you a favor.”
“No, you were just being a dick—”
“If you want to set the guy free, you’ve got to break him. Destroy any chance of hope. Hurt him so much that he hates you, because it’s easier to hate someone than love them when they don’t love you back.”
He’d basically just told me he’d broken a lot of hearts without an ounce of guilt. He made women fall in love with him and then made them watch him walk out with another woman on his arm. “It sounds like you speak from experience.”
“I make my intentions and expectations very clear.”
“Have you ever been in love?”
His eyes were cold, like I’d insulted him. “Have you?”
“No.”
“Let’s get out of here.”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“You already know the answer.”

AURELIAS
The second the door was closed, I pushed her up against it and slid my hands underneath her top, reaching her silky bra and the plump tits underneath. I squeezed them both in my big hands as I kissed her, rock hard at the feel of her gorgeous body. She was petite, over a foot shorter than me, but she was all woman. She had muscles in her arms and legs, a flat stomach with her core muscles distinct, an ass that was plump like a nectarine. Whenever my body made contact with hers, I was swept away in the throes of passion, and I knew she was too.
Her body simmered like a pot of boiling water. The heat was in her core, in the center between her legs, in the tips of her fingers. She burned like a fireplace in the midst of winter, smoldering with heat and smoke. And she burned hotter and hotter the longer I kissed her, and I knew just how wet she was becoming with every passing second.
I undid my trousers and yanked them open, dragging them down until my cock and balls were free. “On your knees.”
She obeyed with enthusiasm, slipping her hands underneath my shirt to grip my torso as she drew my length into her mouth.
