“My father is departing at dawn, and I want to say goodbye. And you don’t strike me as the kind of man that does sleepovers.”
“I’m not.” His arm moved behind his head, elongating the powerful muscles in his side. “Where’s he going?”
“HeartHolme.”
“What about your mother?”
“She’ll stay with us.” I turned my head to look at him. “Why do you care?”
His hard stare remained. “It means I can sneak in all I want since he won’t be around.”
“Uh, no,” I said. “It doesn’t mean that at all. And my mother has the wrath of a fire-breathing dragon.”
A smile entered his features in amusement. “Don’t pretend you don’t want to do this again.”
“I can do it with someone else.”
“But it won’t be as good—and we both know it.” He continued to stare at me, the sexiest man who had ever been in this bed. “Just because I want to see you again doesn’t mean I’m like Ethan. You wanted someone to fuck—and I’m that someone. So don’t make it complicated with this bullshit.”
“Bullshit?” I asked incredulously. “Not wanting you to sneak into my bedroom isn’t bullshit.”
“I wouldn’t have had to if you’d kept your end of the bargain. And you’re lucky I’m not making you keep the other part of the bargain too.”
My eyes shifted away, thinking about what he really wanted to do to me.
“My place tomorrow after sunset.” He stared at me, his eyes piercing and hard.
“That would be three nights in a row—”
“It’s going to bemorethan three nights in a row.”
I pushed the covers off and swung my legs over the edge.
His arm gripped my stomach, and he dragged me close, his lips burrowing into my neck with kisses, his big fingers digging into my body.
I tried to pry his arm off, but he gripped me tighter, pressed his kisses to my shoulder. My back flushed against his hard chest, and his scent smothered me. He was all man, all heat, and the second our bodies were close together, we were stuck like glue. I wanted this man more than any other—so I pushed him away as hard as I could.
He laid me back on the bed then moved on top of me. He grabbed my ankles and positioned my feet against his hard body, one against his stomach while the other was placed at the bottom of his chest.
He was hard like the cold ground in winter, and bumps moved across my skin when I felt that strength against my bare feet. His fingers reached for my neck and squeezed when he had me in place, gripping me like he owned me, when I’d only just learned his name. Then he pushed himself inside me and started to thrust, his thumb swiping up to my lips for me to suck.
I parted my mouth and took it, sucking his thumb hard to stifle the moans.
He fucked me hard again, his dick hard as the steel from my sword, and he reminded me why I would show up on his doorstep tomorrow night…and the night after that…and the night after that.

HARLOW
My father was armed to the teeth, wearing his full black armor that I’d never seen him wear in person. When we trained, he wore durable steel plates, but this was the stuff made for battle. His cloak was clasped behind, and it danced in the breeze behind him like a raised flag. He carried his sword on his hip and an axe across his back. Uncle Ian was dressed in the same way.
Something didn’t feel right.
My mother was quiet, her eyes guarded against intrusion into her thoughts. She either looked at my father or out into the distance. I worried they would suspect I hadn’t slept another night, but they were too distracted to notice.
That wasn’t a good thing.
“Front or back?” Uncle Ian asked as he looked at Pyre.
