O livia sobbed, one hand gripping the sheets tightly while the other cradled her husband’s head between her legs as he brought her to pleasure again and again with his tongue.

He was exceptionally gentle yet relentless in satisfying her need for release, especially since they hadn’t been able to engage in the act itself for months.

She cried out and tugged at his hair as she writhed beneath him.

Jarvis rolled off her, wiping his mouth with his forearm. “Delicious,” he said in a hoarse voice.

Olivia collapsed against the pillows. “That was… exceptional.”

He grinned and scooted closer to her. “Glad I could be of service.”

He kissed her on the mouth, and she tasted her own essence on his tongue.

“I want to do the same for you,” she whispered.

He grabbed the bulge in his breeches and closed his eyes. “I would never refuse you anything.”

The sound of a whimpering babe interrupted their passionate moment. “Perhaps later,” Olivia said, rolling off the bed and hurriedly putting on a dressing gown.

“At least she allowed you to finish this time,” Jarvis said with a smile.

“I’ll be back to assist you in your climax,” she replied with a grin.

“God, yes,” Jarvis whispered as Olivia slipped into the adjoining room.

It was unorthodox, to say the least, but after the first pregnancy had failed and all the worries associated with carrying this precious little girl to delivery, they decided against having a nursery on the other floor with a nursemaid living with her.

Instead, they transformed the viscountess’s quarters into a small nursery.

Olivia did not sleep separately from Jarvis anyway.

She walked into the room and picked up the babe.

Jarvis appeared in the doorway, watching his wife cradle their daughter as she fed.

The tableau was so peaceful and so at odds with the hurried footsteps barreling toward their room that Olivia startled at the insistent knocking.

Jarvis turned away, his body taut and alert, and dashed for the door. Something was wrong.

Olivia heard him exchange a few words with Elkins, his valet, before he walked back into the room, pacing but not stepping into the nursery again.

Olivia held her babe tightly to her chest and stepped back into the room. “What’s wrong?”

Jarvis shook his head. “Erebus. The new one. It’s the first time he has contacted me, and apparently, he wants a meeting.”

“Does he say why?”

“No.” Jarvis shook his head. “Not exactly. He says it’s a mission that could end it all. I am to send an unmarked carriage and an escort to the House of Pain and Pleasure, with instructions for the driver to do as he commands.”

“Will you comply?”

“Of course,” Jarvis answered without hesitation. “But I will come along. I won’t just send my servants God knows where. I will find out everything once and for all.”

“I am coming with you!” Olivia glanced at the babe in her arms, reluctant to leave her even for a moment.

Jarvis smiled, his gaze filled with humor, love, and pride. “No, you’re not. I want my two favorite ladies to be safe.”

“Will I be safe alone with the babe in this house in the middle of the night?”

“Elkins will take care of you.” He paused, his brows furrowing. “Or should I ask for someone to stay with you?”

“No. I want to go with you,” Olivia insisted. “We can leave the babe with my parents while—”

“That is out of the question. It’s dangerous business; you know this. Besides, we shouldn’t bother your parents in the middle of the night.”

“I will not rest if you’re out of the house on some mysterious, dangerous business.”

He paused, scratching his jaw. “Would it make you feel better if I didn’t go alone?”

She bit her lip. “Perhaps.”

“Then get dressed. I will drive you to Annalise and bring Payne with me. He owes me a favor for helping rescue Annalise. It’s time to pay up.”

Olivia happily sprang to the nursery and placed the babe back in the cradle so she could get dressed. “I am certain he would help you even without mentioning this debt of his.” She walked toward her husband and hugged him tightly. “Promise to be careful?”

He kissed her on the lips. “I promise.”
