DALLAS

Kinsey catches my gaze as soon as I walk into the bar, and her mouth lifts into a soft smile. I take my hat off, clutching it to my chest as she intercepts me on my way to the bar.

She nods to the far right. “I’m in that section if you want to take a seat.”

“You don’t mind?”

A singular eyebrow raises, and her hands rest on her hips. “You came to talk to me, did you not?”

I try to hold back my smile but fail. “I did, yeah.”

Her lips quirk, and she sighs, nodding back over to an empty booth. “Beer? ”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Kinsey shakes her head. “Cowboys and your manners. Give me five and I’ll meet you for a break.”

I walk over to the empty booth and sit down, glancing over the crowd before nearly jumping out of my skin when two manicured hands slam onto the table.

Brielle leans closer to me, her eyes shifting over my face before pulling back. “Dallas?”

“Are you asking or confirming?” I say, amused.

She shrugs. “Either or. I got a rant lined up for each of you.”

I rest my arm on the back of the padded bench, staring up at the feisty blonde. “While I’m tempted to see what you’d say to my brother, yeah. Dallas.”

Brielle gives me a sickly sweet smile. “Excellent. Now if you hurt Kinsey, I will make you regret the day you were born, and I’m not joking. I’ve watched a lot of Forensic Files, I can get creative with my torture techniques. ”

My mouth drops open. “I never want to hurt Kinsey.”

She scoffs. “You hurt her by sending us on a wild goose chase.”

“That wasn’t me, that was Colt. I had no idea she was searching for Levi.”

Her eyes narrow. “Hmmm. That’s your one free pass, but just remember, knives are multi-use tools.”

She tosses her blonde curls over her shoulder and prances away. I watch her in stunned silence. What does that even mean?

I shudder, thinking about how it gave serial killer vibes. Whatever she plans to say to my brother, I no longer have any interest in finding out.

Kinsey comes to the table a minute later, carrying drinks for both of us. “What did Brielle say?” Her exasperated huff says she’s used to her best friend’s antics.

“I think she threatened to skin my balls,” I say, my voice wavering with uncertainty .

Kinsey blinks and then throws her head back and laughs. The gesture warms my chest. “That sounds like her.” Her smile is still on her face as she sits, staring at me wistfully. “It didn’t scare you off?”

A smile pulls on my lips. “Nah, Brielle’s like a fierce kitten, but I’ve wrangled wild stallions.”

Kinsey laughs again, shaking her head. “I think that has to be the most cowboyesque sentence to ever be.”

I chuckle. “Truth be told, it’s the young bucks that are the ones who give the most trouble. But no one wants to admit to being bested by a pony.”

Her eyes glitter with amusement. “Good to know.”

I clear my throat. “How you feeling? Meeting Levi was…probably a lot.”

Her face falls. “Yeah. I’ve stared at that photo for so long, and then seeing him in person, it didn’t seem real. I understand the need for a paternity test, but I still feel a little sad. ”

I reach over, grabbing her hand to tangle our fingers. “I’ve known Levi for years. If he had known about you, he would have been there.”

She smiles. “Thanks, Dallas. That means a lot.”

“Plus, Maverick may seem like a growly bear, but he’s really a big softie. I think having him as a big brother is going to be more hassle than anything else.”

Kinsey grins wider before worrying her lip. “You think? It seemed like he didn’t like me.”

A sharp whistle startles us both, and we turn to watch Tracy wave at Kinsey. “Sorry, I’ll be right back.” When I move to take a sip of my beer, Tracy glares at me, shaking her head. I set the bottle down, confused.

Kinsey comes back with a smile, and her hands slide into her pockets nervously. “Tracy said I can have the rest of the night off, but only if you take me to the docks?”

My eyes widen, and I spare a glance at Tracy, who is grinning mischievously back at me.

I clear my throat, and nod. “Uh, yeah. I can take you to the docks, but I should warn you that it’s like the town’s hook-up spot.

Anyone sees us there and they’ll think you took a ride in more than just my truck. ”

Her cheeks flush pink. “Oh.”

I blush back. “Not that I expected anything to happen, of course. I just wanted to—uh, warn ya.”

Kinsey smiles, laughing softly. “I appreciate it. Brielle and I aren’t used to being so…center of attention.”

“The curse and beauty of a small town. It’s not so bad once you’re used to it,” I say, nudging her with my shoulder. “Ready to go?”

She nods, sliding her hand into mine as I lead her out into the parking lot. My heart leaps into my throat. I’ve never held a girl’s hand before, and I never realized how intimate it feels, which is crazy considering the girl has touched my penis already.

I help her into my truck and grin the entire way to the small dock in the large pond right off the main highway out of town.

It backs up to one of the larger ranches, and technically is his property, but the swimming hole is basically free for public use at this point. Kinsey leans forward excitedly.

The greenish-blue water is covered by the surrounding trees; a rickety white wood dock leads from the sloped dirt a few feet into the water.

“We used to have a rope swing, but the branch snapped a few summers back,” I tell her.

She smiles. “I bet that was awesome as a kid.”

Turning off the truck, we unbuckle our seatbelts and look out at the setting sun glistening over the water.

“It was awesome, but most of it was just horsing around with the guys. It was the summer hangout, then it became the hangout spot for different reasons,” I say, waggling my eyebrows.

Kinsey blushes. “The town make out spot?”

“Oh, I’m sure you could throw a pebble and hit someone who has lost their virginity.”

She laughs. “Oh my god. How scandalous, but actually, I kind of love it. A little bit of lore to the town. ”

A snort escapes before I can stop it. “Yeah, I guess. We’re more known for our dancing bar and our rodeo star.”

“Cooper, right? I kind of heard about it.”

I nod. “Yeah, he’s one of the best.”

“You’re not a fan of riding bulls?”

A dirty joke is on the tip of my tongue, and I catch it before it slips out, smiling as I lick my lips.

Seeing the look on my face well enough to guess, she giggles and reaches over, pulling my hat off and almost putting it on her head. I catch her wrist with raised eyebrows.

“You know what they say about putting on a man’s hat?”

Her plump lips slant, and on a sultry breath she says, “What?”

My tongue drags along the back of my teeth, and I suck on my bottom lip slightly before giving her a sly smile. “That you wanna ride the cowboy.”

Kinsey’s face flushes, and I let go of her wrist. We stare at each other for a moment before she places my hat on her head, and my blood rushes south. I trace her bottom lip with my thumb, and her eyes become hooded.

“I’m going to kiss you, Kinsey, and I’m not sure I can stop after.”

Her tongue peeks out, pressing against my thumb before she sighs. “Maybe I don’t want you to.”

I swallow, cupping the back of her neck and pulling her closer to me, pausing when our mouths are less than a breath away. “This means something to me. I don’t care if you’re looking for a little release from an emotional day, this is more than a random hookup.”

Her lips part as her eyes widen. “Dallas…”

I kiss her, crashing our mouths together. The feel of her lips on mine short-circuits my brain, and all I think about is her. The softness of her plump lips, the sweetness starting to coat her scent as her arousal grows, the silkiness of her hair as my fingers twist into the fiery red strands.

I pull her onto my lap, and she comes willingly, situating her hot pussy right on my jean-clad cock.

I groan into her mouth as she rocks her hips, grinding down on me.

Kinsey’s hands explore over my shoulders, holding on tight as I thrust up into her.

Fuck, what I wouldn’t give to strip her naked and bury myself in her tight heat.

She pulls away, panting as her hands tangle into my hair, and she rests her forehead against mine. My hands fall to grip her hips, guiding her into a rhythm that is driving us both crazy.

“You okay?” I breathe out. She doesn’t seem to be as hazy as she was in the library. Her scent is driving me wild, the heavy perfume of lemony syrup making my cock throb and mouth water. It seems heavier than before, but not dripping with the sweetness of a heat spike.

Kinsey nods, rocking her hips again. “I want this. As in me, not my omega needing release.”

I groan, growing impossibly harder, and drag her mouth back down to mine.

I thrust up at her next grind, wincing at the slight pain of my sensitive tip rubbing against the rough denim.

Kinsey groans, moving faster as her breathing shallows more.

My fingers flex tighter as my knot starts to swell with my release cresting.

“Kins, you’ve gotta stop…I’m gonna come,” I get out between gritted teeth.

“Wait, please,” she pleads, wiggling in place and then moaning as if she’s found the perfect spot.

Another rock of her hips, and she falls apart between my hands.

Her eyes roll back as her body trembles, and I can feel the clenching of her pussy against my cock.

The look of pure bliss on her face sets me off, and I can’t hold it back any longer, coming hard in my jeans.

A grunt escapes me as I feel the warmth of my cum starting to leak everywhere.

Kinsey gasps, lifting her head to stare down at my lap.

“Did you?—”

“Shhh,” I whisper before kissing her, and she laughs into my mouth, nipping at my bottom lip.

“That’s so hot.”

I snicker. “This stays between us. The boys would never let me live it down.”
