Page 106 of Surviving Love
“You need to trust me. Trust us.”
“It’s not easy. I get in my head sometimes.”
“I noticed.” He laughed, leaning down to kiss me.
I pulled him closer, opening my mouth to his tongue. I needed him to show me just how much he needed me. He tugged my underwear off and then covered me, his body molding into mine perfectly. His body was warm and hard, and when he nudged my thighs open, my heart slammed against my ribs.
Within minutes, he entered me, his kisses tender and his movements slow and deep. He was completely focused on me, every thrust carefully designed to coax me to the edge. He held me tight, giving me wordless reassurance that I was everything to him.
I came hard and fast, spilling my release between our heaving bodies. He pressed his mouth to mine tenderly, and only when he was sure I was done did he let himself go. With a chest-deep groan, he came in a hot flush of seed that filled me up and made me whole again.
I trembled against him, warm and relaxed. He stroked me, kissing my hair and face. I let out a sigh of contentment, and he pulled out of me and took his place beside me. I moved into the crook of his arm and rested my hand over his heart. It thumped beneath my palm, strong and steady.
“I’ll just put it out there so there’s no misunderstanding: I want to move in with you, Mason,” he said quietly. “I want that more than anything.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah. Being polite just sends you the wrong signals. I’m done being courteous. I want to be here with you, so I’m moving in. Okay?”
I met his gaze. “I’m sorry. I don’t want to be like this.”
“I get it. It’s okay. I should have known you’d get the wrong idea.”
“What will you do with your house?”
“I’ll rent it out. That was my plan all along. Once I felt you were comfortable with the idea of living together, I was going to rent my place out. I had a two-year plan.”
“Two years?” I squeaked.
“I was taking my time with you. I didn’t want to spook you.”
I nuzzled his shoulder. “God, two years? I’m notthatskittish.”
He laughed. “Now you tell me.”
I winced. “Thank you for being so patient with me tonight.”
“You’re welcome.” He tangled his fingers in my hair. “I knew something was bothering you.”
“Yeah.” My lids were heavy, and I was drowsy now. “This is perfect though,” I said softly.
He pulled the covers up around my shoulders. “It is.”
“I’ll get better with time, Jack. I won’t always be paranoid.”
“I know.” He kissed the tip of my nose and said quietly, “Just remember, Mason, no matter what life throws at us, I’ll always want you in my final two.”
“Better make that a final three, or Mom will throw a fit at being left out.”
His husky laughter filled the room, and I grinned up at him happily.
