THIRTY-NINE
TEDDY
T he night was a success. Not only did the boys have a great time on their first Halloween outing, but they also seemed to bond beyond our wildest expectations.
They made each other laugh, giggle, and scream from the top of their lungs, and when it was time to take over and for the guys to go to Enzo’s adult Halloween party, they even had an impromptu pyjama party watching animated movies, chasing Joey and Santiago’s four cats or sharing treats until they were full to the brim.
It filled my heart. And while I was no fool or disillusioned, it felt as if everything was all right with the world again.
Bear was having the time of his life, I was surrounded by friends that felt closer than family now, the Barnes boys were living their happily ever after at long last with two of the best dads, and most importantly, I had found something—someone—I never thought I would.
The love of my life.
Because there was no denying it. Wesley was the love of my life, and I didn’t need to know him for months or years to recognize that.
Maybe there was something in the water here in Mayberry Holm.
It was no coincidence that so many of my old teammates had found their one true loves on this island.
I may not believe in magic, but I believed in this Mayberry witchcraft that seemed to have a mind of its own and was determined to give everyone a happy ending.
“Is he out?” Wesley whispered when I returned to the bedroom after we’d gotten home with Bear sleeping in my arms.
“Oh yeah.” I closed the door. “Didn’t even manage to take off his costume before he was KOed.”
Wesley chuckled.
“He really loves Stitch, doesn’t he? I can’t wait to see how long that lasts.”
I smiled and approached the bed, stripping off my clothes and feeling so ready to be KOed too.
“Hopefully soon. I’m sick of watching the damn movie, as great as it is.” I stopped at the edge of the bed and offered him my hand.
He gave it to me with a curious expression on his face, especially when I pulled him up.
“What?” I asked.
“Where are we going?” He put his feet on the floor and stood with a smirk on his face.
“Where do you think? It’s been a long day. We need a shower.”
“Ooh, indeed we do,” he said, and we retreated to the bathroom, where I locked the door and Wesley turned the water on.
I turned to face him and couldn’t help but smile, especially when he stripped off his clothes in a slow, sensual manner, as if putting on a show.
“You like what you’re seeing?” he asked.
I raised an eyebrow and revealed my hard cock that had been suffocating inside my tight underwear.
Wesley made a low rumbling sound, staring at my throbbing dick, and I put him out of his misery, closing the distance between us and pulling down his own underwear before dragging us both under the hot water.
“I had such a great time with you today.” I groaned and kissed him, our bodies lighting on fire under the physical contact and the heat of the water.
“Me…too,” he mumbled in between breaths, and I pinned him against the wall, freeing my hands to roam all over his body.
Wesley wrapped his hand around my cock and guided me between his crossed legs and making all the air leave my body.
“What are you—” I started when he put his fingers on my lips and grabbed my hips so he could make me thrust in and out of his thighs.
All I could do was stare into his beautiful green eyes and try to catch my breath. This shouldn’t have felt this good, this intense, this hot. And yet, the more I plunged between his legs, the weaker I felt. The more desperate for and close to release I felt.
“And here I was about to suggest you top me finally. At this rate, I’ll be wiped out before we can do any of that,” I panted and bit on his bottom lip.
“Oh, baby, we can try that, but you’re dealin’ with a power bottom here, so I’m not sure I’ll be any good at that.”
“Power bottom, huh?” I groaned, and was it me or had his legs gotten tighter?
“It means I’m a strict?—”
“Yeah, I figured out what it means. But I’d still like to try sometime,” I said. “Even if it’s with your toys.”
His eyes went wide.
“How do you know about my toys?”
I bit my lip.
“Oh. I…well, Ruby might have mentioned you have quite the collection.”
He gasped.
“How the fuck does she know?”
I laughed.
“Beats me. But it’s true?”
He put his hand to his chest as if he were about to have a heart attack and nodded.
“I wouldn’t call it a collection.” I opened my mouth to say something, but he grabbed me by the jaw and narrowed his eyes.
“Do you want to keep talking about my sex toys, or do you want to come all over my thighs and balls?”
The untamable growl that escaped my lips was enough of an answer, and I focused back on the tight heat around my cock and my baby’s demand.
If he wanted me to come down his legs, who was I to say no?
I grabbed him by the waist, resting my forehead against his, and gave him my all. And when I felt the now familiar tightness in the pit of my stomach, I locked my lips with his and gazed into his eyes as I let go and shot my load.
Wesley put one hand on the back of my neck, one on the small of my back, and kept me pressed to him as I caught my breath.
“How about we clean up now?” he said and let go of me.
Without thinking, I dropped to my knees, spread his legs apart, and started to lick my cum off him. As I did, he grabbed my head and his cock grew harder, so when I was done, I turned my attention to his pulsing erection and didn’t stop until I’d consumed all of him too.
“God, I love you,” he said when I stood back up and drove my tongue into his mouth.
“I love you too,” I said. “Now, let’s clean up and go to bed.”
Which was exactly what we did, cuddling and kissing or grinding against each other until the morning light.
“I can’t believe I have to go to work with zero sleep,” I mumbled when my alarm went off.
“I know. I’m sorry,” he said, wrapping his arms around me.
“Don’t be. I wouldn’t change last night for the world,” I said.
He nodded with a smile.
“I know. Me neither.” He sighed and nuzzled against the crook of my neck for a moment before he looked back at me. “Will I see you tonight?”
“You bet your ass,” I said.
“Oh wait.” He grimaced. “I have to help a colleague with a project. And I have no idea what time we’ll be done.”
“That’s okay. You can pop by when you are.”
He shook his head.
“I don’t want to disturb you or Bear.”
“You won’t,” I said. “Why would you even think that?”
“Well, I can’t spend every night here. I’m sure you two want some alone bonding time.”
I squeezed his cheek and laughed.
“Every time we’re alone, he asks where you are, so I think he may be as obsessed with you as I am.”
He rolled his eyes.
“But still?—”
“In fact, maybe you should move in here,” I said, and he froze, staring at me.
“I should what?”
I leaned back and pressed my lips together. “What? Too soon? Should I not have said that?”
He took a beat before he cupped my cheek and sighed.
“Do you mean it?” he asked.
“I don’t say anything I don’t mean.”
“I…I’d love that,” he said.
“You would?”
He nodded.
“But maybe we should wait a bit, no? Wouldn’t it be weird to move in together so soon after getting together?”
I shrugged.
“Everyone else did it.”
“I’m just thinking of Bear. Another change so soon…as much as he likes me, it might unsettle him.”
“We can always ask him,” I suggested.
“Maybe. Let’s think this through before we rush into anything, okay?”
Wesley had a point. It might be too fast, but I didn’t care. I wanted to be with him all day, every day. For the rest of my life.
“Also, you know I own my house, right?”
“Yeah,” I said.
“So…wouldn’t it make sense to move into my place?”
I smiled and planted a kiss on his lips.
“If you insist. I’m not going to say no to my dream home.”
Wesley smiled. “Your dream what?”
I pursed my lips and walked over to the closet and opened it to show him my vision board.
He got up and put his glasses on, not even trying to cover his naked body as he approached, like he used to only a week or so ago.
I loved to see it. To see his confidence in his beauty grow.
Because the truth was I loved Wesley exactly the way he was.
I wouldn’t change a thing about him. Not a damn thing.
“That’s my house!” he said, pointing at the board. “What’s it doing there?”
I shrugged.
“I sort of fell in love with it. I think the same day I fell for you, actually.” Because of course I had met Wesley and stumbled on his house without knowing it all in one morning.
“Awww,” he cooed and hugged me. “Is that why you got with me? You had your sights on my house all along?” There was no hint of seriousness in his voice and a whole lot of snark.
So I answered like for like.
“You know it.”
I pulled his head close, to the crook of my neck and was immediately inundated with the lavender smell I’d come to associate with him.
This was what life should be like. Full of simple but wonderful moments like these. Of hugs and kisses and love, but also of conversations like these while naked. This should be the normal. Not abductions and abuse and drugs and death.
I needed to make sure that’s how things stayed.
“Right. Let’s talk later. I need to get ready.” I pulled away from his arms—a crime by all accounts—and got dressed. “Are you sure you’re okay to watch Bear? I can still take him with me.”
Wesley stopped putting his underwear on and rolled his eyes.
“Of course I’m okay. Besides, the poor kid needs a rest.”
I chuckled with a sigh. Wasn’t that the truth? Bear needed a break. And I needed to get my shit in order so I didn’t have to drag him everywhere with me. But I’d already missed enough work with my injury and Zach needed me.
I watched Wesley get dressed and even though he wasn’t, it was as if he was putting on a show just for me.
God! I love this man.
My phone burst into life, interrupting the silence that permeated the house, making both of us jump.
I turned to find it, and Zach’s name was written across the screen.
My brows knotted in confusion as I answered the call and brought the phone to my ear.
“Good morning, Zach? I’m just about to walk out the door.”
“It’s gone,” came back a hyperventilating voice that made me sit up a little straighter. “It’s all gone, Teddy. All gone.”
“Wh-what’s gone?” I asked. “Are you okay, Zach? Where are you?”
Wesley approached me with concern in his eyes and put his hand on my shoulder.
“The truck. It’s gone. The bastard set it on fire. He burned it, Teddy. My business, my lifeline, my passion…it’s gone.”
My throat tightened and my stomach dropped.
“Shit. I’ll be right there.”
