Scouts, of course, had sent the message all throughout the Pikuni camp: not only was First Rider returning with Otahki, but First Rider's former wife, Tsistsaki, and her Flathead husband and their child, as well as the entire camp of the Flathead were coming to visit.
The Pikuni camp was all astir with excitement as the people began their preparations for a great feast. Amidst the many declarations of the Pikuni people welcoming the Flathead and renewing friendships, First Rider and Otahki, as well as Tsastaski's Flathead family, passed through the camp, heading directly toward Chief Flying Hawk's lodge, where they were all greeted with a joyful, yet teary-eyed group of people, the happiest amongst them Chief Flying Hawk and his wife.
And, so it came to pass that the great medicine man, First Rider, and his wife, Otahki, the medicine woman had returned to them, a married couple. It is said they had many children and lived to a great age, their love for one another never diminishing.
And, what happened to Maká pato'si, you might ask?
He was sent away, very far away, and never did he haunt this part of the world again.
