Andie laughed. “Yeah, me too. Seems like I just look at food and the pounds go on.”
“Don’t I know it.”
“You’re not the only ones,” Liz Weston said from the doorway. “Sorry, I couldn’t help but overhear about the pounds going on.”
Cooper trotted over to her, wagging his tail rapidly as she stooped to pet him.
“Come on in and join us.” Jane gestured toward the empty chair. “Sorry there’s no more chocolate.”
“I’m on my way to my room, but I was looking for you two so I could invite you to a little reveal party I’m having to show off the house. It’s mostly cleaned out now, and Sally is almost done with the painting.”
“How does it look?” Jane asked.
“Fabulous. I can’t believe the difference.”
“I’m dying to see it,” Andie said.
“Great. Sally is coming, and so are Bunny Howard and a few of the other neighbors. Could you invite Maxi and that nice lady from the bakery?”
“Claire?” Jane asked.
“Yes. She was so gracious to me the other morning.”
“Of course. She’d love to come, and Maxi will be excited to see the change.”
“Great.” Liz bent down and petted Cooper again. “And you’re invited, too, Cooper. Tomorrow night at six o’clock.”
