“What?”
“Me too.”
“Good, I’m glad. Now give me what I—”
Quinn captured her mouth before she could finish asking and also found her swiftly with her fingers. Precisely. Lia shuddered and moaned. Heat pooled between her legs on a rush of liquid pleasure. She cupped Quinn’s small and perfectly round breasts, fondled, held, and caressed her the way she knew would destroy her eventually.
“Never without you, Lia,” Quinn hissed against her ear. She rubbed her fast, hard. “Never again without you.”
She was making her pulse, hard, and swollen.
“Quinn…”
“I missed my wife.”
Those words were even more thrilling.
“I’m going to lose it soon if you carry on.”
“That’s what I want. Let go, Lia.”
“Ride me then. Come with me!”
Lia let go with one hand to grab a handful of her hair. She bit on her shoulder, elicited a hot, attractive groan. It was a little bit frantic, absolutely greedy, ultimately glorious. Afterwards, Quinn sat on the shower floor, water dripping into her eyes and with the silliest little smile on her face.
“Welcome home, babe.”
???
“I think this is the best lasagna ever!”
Lia sipped her wine and smiled at her spouse from across the table. Sometimes, she studied the gold ring on her finger, looked at the woman she’d married, and struggled to believe herown luck. Home life with Quinn was amazing. They made it so, in every way. Lia relaxed now and enjoyed the reunion. She’d slipped on thick socks and a pair of comfy sweat pants. Quinn sported a line of lingering color over her cheeks, a reminder of a good time in the shower. Lia could have simply sat and stared at her for the rest of the night, and been happy.
“Well…” Quinn smiled sheepishly. “You made it.”
“Yes, but you got it out and ready. Put fresh flowers on the table. Got candles, and my favorite wine. Thank you, darling, for being so thoughtful.”
“You’re welcome. I enjoyed prepping for tonight. Couldn’t wait to have you home.”
“And I know how busy you’ve been, too, and what was at stake.” Lia reached over to squeeze her wrist. “Congratulations, darling. You got young kids out of a horrific situation and back to their families.”
“Not just me. It was a team effort.”
“Yes, I know. But I am proud of my wife who led the team.”
“Thanks, that means a lot.” They clinked glasses and Quinn shifted the conversation to her work. She could take praise and compliments, Lia knew, only in small amounts. “How was the conference?”
“Great. Really worth going.”
“Cool, I’m glad it went well.”
“I was offered a job.”
“Oh?” Quinn blinked at this and she went a little still.
“Yep. Lead reporter for a media group out east. They are so keen to get me on that they threw in final cut on all editorials, maximum budget for innovative projects, and a talented camera woman to accompany me on trips abroad. I’m not going to take it,” Lia added, quickly, when she noticed some of the color start to drain out of Quinn’s face.
“But it sounds like a dream offer.”
